ሰነ ፪፩ ፳፩፫ ወፍሪ ኣሉላ በስራዊት ትግራይ | June 28, 2021, The largest military comeback in the 21st century worldwide, Operation Alula

After nearly 8 months of brutal foreign occupation and repeated massacres after massacres the people of Tigray got a sense of happiness as they could go outside freely, wave their flags and celebrate, of course this did not end the genocide, but it played the most important role in changing the outcome of what the genocide was supposed to be planned as. Eternal glory to our martyrs.

"This is the saddest time in my life." Rare moment of Meles Zenawi being emotional during the brutal 1984-1985 famine that affected over 7.75 million people

TPLF rebel leaders, 1984

It's pretty interesting seeing them all together considering the circumstances now.

Samora Yunis - ENDF Chief of General Staff from 2001-2018, currently opposed to modern TPLF and pro-PP

Hayalom Araya - Leader of the Famous Agazi Operation (1), senior military commander of the newly formed ENDF until his assassination in 1996.

Aregash Adene - Only female in the 29-member Central Commitee of the TPLF until she left during the 2001 TPLF split. Co-founded opposition party Arena Tigray afterward and is still a part of that party.

Abay Tsehaye - Executive Committee of the TPLF in EPRDF government, retired in 2018. Killed by ENDF soldiers in 2021.

Siye Abraha - CEO of EFFORT until the 2001 TPLF split which got him arrested for corruption charges, afterward he joined Medrek, currently been working as Security Sector Reform Advisor for UNDP in Liberia.

Arkebe Oqubay - Mayor of Addis Ababa from 2003-2006, became Senior Minister and Special Advisor for Abiy from 2018-2019, currently works as a professor at SOAS University of London teaching development and economics.

Tsadkan Gebretensae - Chief of General Staff of the ENDF from 1991 until the 2001 TPLF split. Served as a leading commander in the Tigray Defense Forces during the genocide and became the vice president of Tigray from 2023 until his ousting in 2025. Currently works for Prosperity Party.

Aregawi Berhe - left the TPLF before they even took Addis and founded the Tigrai Democratic Party, deeply hated in Tigray, apparently he visited Tigray one time and his face was recognized instantly and teenagers threw rocks at him until he fled. He blamed the TPLF for this.

Meles Zenawi - Prime Minister of Ethiopia from 1995-2012.

Gebru Asrat - President of Tigray Region from 1991 until the 2001 TPLF split. Co-founded opposition party Arena Tigray afterward and is also still a part of that party. Ironic thing about him was he supported and voted for Eritrean independence yet now he is calling for Eritrea to return to Ethiopia.

Seyoum Mesfin - Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1991-2010, Ambassador of Ethiopia to China from 2011-2017, regarded as very intelligent and moral, as he was the one who chose to spare former Derg officials from execution, and allow them to work under the EPRDF. Killed by ENDF soldiers in 2021.

Eyasu Berhe - Iconic singer, most of you should recognize him, died in Alamata in 2010.

There are a few other prominent members that aren't in this video, such as Se'are Mokonnen and Debretsion Gebremichael.

Sudan starts alarmingly large deployments of military towards the Ethiopia-Sudan border, specifically the Tigray-Sudan border (Al-Fashaga/Al-Gedarif) and Benishangul-Gumuz-Sudan border (Blue Nile State) after Khartoum drone attack a couple days ago

Abiy's decision to involve himself in the Sudan crisis clearly backfired badly, now he needs to beg Mohammed Bin Zayed to allow him to end RSF support because he just created more instability across the border

I posted this in r/tigray because I have suspicion that Army 70 is involved here, since Benishangul Defense Forces and Gumuz Liberation Front just did a joint insurgency in the region aided by Sudan a couple hours ago.

Words of the Late Abay Tsehaye (1953-2021)

70 year-old veteran with back problems executed by ENDF alongside Seyoum Mesfin (another 70-year-old who could barely walk) and Ashmelash Woldeselassie (another 70- year old who was blind and had only one arm)
