In Christianity, "our era" time is calculated by the time since Jesus (Isa) was born, hence why it's called BC -Before Christ and AD - Anno Domini (lat. - in the year of The Lord), but since in Islam Isa has a slightly lesser role than Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), I got confused, how do Muslims actually calculate what year of "our era" is it?
I've read about the Hijri calendar, but then - is it really 1447 currently by Islam? And how do Muslims call the times that were before Hijrah?
