The most important thing that happened was JB talking about the community and how he was to become a part of it. It resulted in a round of applause from the audience. Love it

I saw someone make the comparison that Kyrie and Maxey are similar players. Got me thinking how LeBron has won 4 championships with 3 different teams and his running mates’ play-styles match with this Philly squad.

Maxey > Kyrie

VJ < DWade (Dwayne not Dean)

JB < DWade (Dwayne not Dean)

LeBron = LeBron

Embiid > AD

The best part is each of these players is better than his former teammates IMO. Kyrie has a slightly better finishing package and better handle, but Maxey takes the edge(combe) as a shooter, defender, and vibe. Embiid was an MVP, still plays at that level when he plays, while AD dealt with the same, arguably worse, injury history and his peak isn’t as good. LeBron is LeBron. And VJ + JB is like having 1.67 Dwayne Wades.

I think the expectation this season is a Championship. No doubt. But even if we fall short, this season won’t be a disappointment. It’s awesome to see all the Philly fans getting hype for the year and the Bronsexuals coming in means we probably won’t get taken over by NY fans during the playoffs again.

The craziest part about this roster is you look at it and if you didn’t know the contracts, you’d say Philly went all in for the next 2 seasons. WE’RE STILL UNDER THE FIRST APRON.

I know a lot of people haven’t followed the team super closely in the last few seasons, but we just gave Maxey and VJ the chance to win early and then build a championship roster again in 3-4 years when they both enter their prime and Jo and JB’s contracts aren’t taking up 67% of the cap. Just masterfully work by Mike Gansey and Bob Myers. I am floored that the Sixers front office is not only competent but excelling. Never in my lifetime have we been on the receiving end of so much hate, it just means we’re going to have a lot of fun watching Basketball is south Philly.

Wanted to take a break from LeBron.

We need bona to take a leap to become a serious contender. Having a great backup center is so important in the current NBA, especially with the sixers.

Bona looked great in some games this past season but he really needs to improve when it comes to not fouling, rebounding (mostly defensive), and having better hands. He plays with a level of energy that gets in the way sometimes, I think he’ll improve a ton this offseason just because most of his weaknesses go away with experience. I really believe in Bona.

I can’t wait to watch a full realized Bona banging the other team’s guys for 10-15 minutes and slapping their balls every shot.

EDIT: go look at guys like Mitchell Robinson, Paul Reed, Nemias Queta, Rob Williams III. All these guys looked like Bona in their first 2 years. We need to give my man time to develop. He’s the type of player the thunder or Celtics or Spurs take from us that turns into a guy we talk about 2 years from now like “Why did we give up this guy???” I’m standing on business on this one I believe in the Bona.

Obviously id love to see LeBron go to Philly. He’s the missing piece that turns a 3-6 seed into a serious contender for Philly.

I see a lot of people post here (r/NBA) saying the reason why Philly doesn’t work is because we rely on Embiid health. That was true in the past. If Embiid is healthy we can go the distance. Obviously that has never happened. The difference is now we have Jaylen Brown who, i would argue, makes this team much more immune to Embiid-less stretches. It feels similar to how the Celtics had Porzingi-wingi in 2024 as the nail in the coffin.

That being said, I don’t understand how people can make this argument given that LeBron said he wants to team up with Anthony Davis and Steph Curry. AD is just as injury prone as Embiid and I would argue, although biased, that Embiid is better than AD. Steph similarly is not a pillar of durability AND if Steph gets hurt the Warriors would be totally reliant on Bron. So in my mind, if LeBron’s original #1 option was to go to the warriors with Steph and AD, doesn’t care about Injury luck to a certain extent. Plus the Sixers have the added benefit of no longer being totally reliant on Embiids health with the three headed guard dragon of VJ, Maxey and Brown.

Obviously Cleveland makes the most sense from a narrative standpoint if you look at it as he finishes his career at his Hometown team, but I feel like he’s already done that by returning in 2016. LeBron going to Philly would make him the first star to be a significant contributor on (hopefully) 4 different teams.

TLDR; Philly and Cleveland are exchangeable #1 and #2 destinations in my mind for LeBron. One for being a narrative choice, the other for being a championship choice.

Just this past season the Boston Celitcs blew a 3-1 to the Philadelphia 76ers with home court advantage. Just a reminder in case you forgot that that happened. They actually lost game 7 at home as well believe it or not. Also there was a Sixers rookie who dropped 30-10 on their head at home. Also they immediately turned their back on the franchise player due to what can only be chalked up to as racism and bigotry. What’s would you expect from the worst city in America?

I don’t understand why the consensus is this was a bad move by Charlotte. Yes they had a great year and were fun to watch, but they got bounced in the Play-in. Lamelo is flashy but I don’t believe he will ever be able to contribute to winning basketball.

They got a 6th man of the year who has playoff experience (something the hornets lack) and picks to build around their young core. I thought this was a bad move by Minnesota but I guess we will find out.
