My seven year old son has struggled with reading throughout kindergarten and first, but somewhere around March of his first grade year it suddenly clicked and his love of books has been growing ever since.

We do a lot of read alouds and I think it’s so important, but my kiddo has ADHD and focus is a struggle, though he’s still happy to read—for now.

We read Jumanji tonight and he LOVED it! It was exciting and tactile {I slithered my hand on his arm for the snake, we shook the bed for the stampede, etc} and there was only text and one black and white picture per page, which I liked. After it was over I could hear him telling his dad all about it in the kitchen.

I’d love recommendations for similar books? The length was great, the excitement…thank you so much!

My seven year old is at the age where he has friends over constantly, which we love! But we want to make sure our house is the place to be and we NEVER have enough snacks.

What do your boys like to snack on? Drink? We always have water, Power/Gatorade veggies, and fruits, but what else?

Anything else we can do to make our house a fun place to be for the kids?
