I am expecting my first baby in November. My partner and I will take alternating leaving until May or June. How early do I need to try to secure a daycare spot for my baby?

We are expecting our first baby this fall and are not sure if we will buy a car before the baby comes. We plan on taking a car service home from the hospital. Is there a car seat that is better for parents who will not be using it in their own car or are they all kind of the same in terms of installation and removal?
