What I mean by "non-traditional mermaid" is a mermaid design that is not based of fish but other sea creatures. The most common interpretation of mermaids are usually humanoid creatures with fish tails. But for me, I believe that mermaids are humanoid creatures with a lower half of any aquatic creature. Here are my faves

1. Bivalve mermaids:

Especially scallops and oysters. I really love the idea of a tiny mermaid that lives in her shell. They even swim so uniquely so I would love to see someone animate a scallop mermaid swimming.I really wish they are more popular because art of bivalve mermaids are very rare.

2. Turtle mermaids:

Turtles are such cool creatures. A turtle mermaid can open up so many ideas. Ninja Turtle mermaid, a trash collector mermaid. But my favourite Turtle mermaid idea is Turtle mermaid schoolgirls because in China, students are usually called sea turtles if I'm not mistaken.

3.Crustacean mermaids:

Crabs are very diverse so many opportunities for interesting mermaid designs. They are even such thing as swimming crabs that have paddle legs to swim in water. They looks so goofy doing so.

I wear that in Islam that mermaids cannot be Muslims because they aren't human. (And are halal to eat which kinda irks me). But I think if mermaids are real and sapient they would be able to convert into religions especially Islam. But that's just my opinion if anyone is more knowledgeable in Islamic rulings on other non-human sapient creatures, please do correct me.

I don't know if other religions believes that mermaids can't be religious. Also how would they adapt with being religious. I'm mostly talking about Muslim mermaids so if you're from another religion, you can also explain what adaptation mermaids would need to do in your religion if you want. For prayer, mermaids would do it the same way as disabled people would do prayer. Aurah would be tricky because if a mermaid has the same Aurah as a human woman then they have trouble swimming in thick clothing. I do think they would still cover their hair or hair-like appendages. If a clothing that can fully cover a mermaid and still be hydrodynamic exist, this problem can be resolved. I just love the idea of religious mermaids because it can open so much stories. What do you guys think?

I headcanon that Arin would be Frak's wingman and help him confess to Sora.

Jordana on the other hand is trying to redeem herself by abandoning magic and work somewhere in the Crossroads. ( I headcanon her as a closeted lesbian)

When Jordana meet with Sora again, she will try to befriend her and is invited by the latter to stay at the Monastery since Jordana can't go back to Imperium. She worked with Beatrix so people there wouldn't trust her.

I wouldn't know how an interaction between Frak and Jordana would go other than him being suspicious of her. I don't expect Frak to be close with her as he joins very late in the Wolf Clan so she is probably mostly possessed by that point.

Jay would be glad to see Jordana again. She also come out to him about her crush on Sora. Jay would then be her wingman.

Before season two, I always headcanon Wyldfyre as a lesbian. I don't know why but I just feel like it.

Another personal candidate is Jordana. I heard from someone's headcanon that the reason Jordana is mad at Sora is not just of jealousy but also crushing on her. And because she's confused with this feeling, she lashes out on Sora to try to cope with it. I find that very interesting even though I'm a Techtonic shipper.

BTW, you can name any female character who is not shown.

I was doing an anatomy study and got problems with the legs. Maybe there's a reason I do mermaids. Any help is appreciated.

I made new drawings based of these photos from Pinterest. I feel this is the best I have ever done but I wanna know what other people think. Also how do I draw heads from different angles? I think that is probably my weakest skill.
