Teriyaki salmon + gimbap

I have a picky girl so the salmon was risky but as long as there’s rice, furikake, and a sweet and savory sauce, I know she’ll devour it😂

When toddler straight up refuses to eat

I made my toddler handmade shrimp noodles for lunch today. It’s probably the fifth time I’ve made them, and every single time before this, she’s eaten them without a problem.

They’re not difficult to make, exactly, but they’re tedious enough that I always feel a little proud of myself when I actually make them.

So today when I called her over for lunch, she walked over slowly but didn’t step foot into the actual dining room. She looked over from the living room and did a quick visual inspection of what was being served today and immediately says “I’m tired. I’ll nap first” 🙃

For awhile now when she refuses to eat her lunch, I don’t make a fuss about it or try to convince her to eat. I simply tell her she doesn’t have to eat, but she will need to move on to the next activity, which is nap. And surprisingly she’s caught on quick so nowadays instead of arguing with me, she just tells me she wants to nap first🙂

Tired

Does anyone else’s husband provide 0 contribution to the kids’ meals besides paying for groceries?🫠 I’m a sahm and he works so I guess this is to be expected, but there are times on the weekends that he’s up early with the baby and he literally just sits on the couch and waits for me to wake up with the toddler. He doesn’t get breakfast started or anything. He also has zero interest in making food for them, no desire to help me even when he has time. Last weekend he was up early, just sitting there with baby for 1.5hrs and didn’t feed her. When I woke up I started breakfast immediately after realizing that baby’s been on an empty stomach for that long and admittedly I was a bit annoyed, so I said asked him why he didn’t think to make breakfast for her if he was already up. His response was “oh so you want me to do everything around here?” BRO WHAT🙄

To give him some credit, he did make breakfast for our toddler after I had just given birth to baby. Did he make her the same thing every single day? Yup. Was it just PB toast? Yep. But he at least he made breakfast knowing that I was up all night with baby.

Left: mashed avo, ricotta cheese with honey, plaid bread for the toddler (3)

Right: oranges, yogurt, and avo toast for baby (11m)
