Toddler snack

Made these strawberries & cream gelatin snacks for toddler who had been picky/teething. Was unsure of texture at first but loved them after!

Lunch for my princess

The princess has had a runny nose the past few days. I thought she could use a pick me up, so I put my insomnia towards some solid prep last night. My wife’s finally back home + I’m freshly stocked on groceries too- I had a blast stinking up the house at 2:30am!

Both nostrils are blocked (probably can’t taste a thing), and she’s purely mouthbreathing today. But her majesty sat for the entire meal, for once!

(Clockwise):

-fruit

-a premade Hello Kitty narutomaki ($3.99, just needs slicing)

-riceball with a matching Kitty bow + sesame steamed broccoli

-Enoki mushroom “latke” on a carrot/cuke quilt garnish

-grilled mackerel

-steamed eggs

-a chinese style dried pork microserving (about 1g). She calls it “hair”, we call it “her chewing tobacco” lol.

-a 50% dilution apple juice (not pictured)

(Swipe for the A- completion. Hello Kitty was not spared.)

🚨Call the Cops! Alert the Media!🚨 My 3.5yo finished his plate

My husband travels a lot for work so I've been home with 3 under 4 all week.

Tonight's meal: Frozen Voila Chicken Alfredo that I added extra heavy cream, grated Parmesan, and Italian seasoning to. And cut grapes with yogurt covered pretzels for dessert. Edit: I also put shredded mozzarella on top when I plated it

I sent him a Snapchat of the before plates and I'm kicking myself for not saving it. My child who basically refuses to eat anything other than snacks said, and I quote "mmm this is tasty" and ate his entire plate 😲

Kids are 3.5y, 20mo, 2mo.

The 20 month old couldn't have cared less and just played with it. Still calling it a win though!

Dinner for my almost 1 year old 🥹

My baby is turning 1 in a few days and I’m in my feelings. He was a 28 weeker- I wish I could show me from a little over a year ago what her then 2.5lb baby could eat for dinner a year later. 🥹❤️

Making homemade pouches. Any recipes?

My son is turning 2 on Monday and because of his 2 year molars coming in, he is anti-solid foods right now. We buy about $100 worth of pouches a week at this point because it is all he will eat. So I decided to try and make my own!!

These are carrots, apples, greek yogurt, cinnamon, brown sugar, and honey :) hopefully he likes them. They are mostly carrot. I used 2 cups of chopped carrots

Plate vs. Ate: Feeling so defeated

I know that food before one is just for fun, but I think the social media of it all is getting to me. It is so disheartening seeing babies her age eating full plates of food.

My daughter was a great eater when we started solids at 6 months, but after a month of coughing and 3 new teeth (one currently erupting, and I’m sure there’s a fourth not far behind it), she just isn’t super interested anymore. She just turned 8 months old a week ago, and it’s been a struggle. Barely even wants bottles right now. She just finished a round of steroids and antibiotics for croup and her eating has gotten a little better, but she just seems like she’d rather be doing anything else.

Pls help – 10mnth-old suddenly stopped accepting the spoon and only eats crispy snacks

Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice or reassurance from parents who may have gone through something similar because I’m getting really anxious.
Our 10-month-old had recently been eating spoon-fed meals (purees or mashed foods) twice a day. I wanted to gradually cut one bottle feed and introduce a third meal, but before I got to that, from one day to the next she completely stopped accepting being fed with a spoon.
Now she wants to feed herself, which I understand is developmentally normal, but the problem is she currently seems able to eat only crispy corn snacks. This has been going on for six days now.
I’ve tried offering foods she could pick up and eat independently, but either she doesn’t like them or she doesn’t seem to know what to do with them:

Eggs in different forms – no
Cheese – no
Steamed vegetables – not really (yesterday she ate a few very tiny pieces)
Small pieces of meat – yesterday maybe three pea-sized pieces
Fruit – hard no
Toast – chews a little but doesn’t really eat it
Toast with butter – absolutely not

Right now it honestly feels like she only knows how to eat crispy corn snacks (like the ones in the picture) and my husband’s toasted gluten-free bread.
To make things more frustrating, I also can’t seem to teach her how to drink from a straw. I’ve tried every trick I could find and she just doesn’t seem to get it. That’s especially discouraging because she clearly wants to do things by herself now, including drinking.
I’ve read this can be a phase, but I’m really struggling with anxiety over it. If you experienced something similar, how long did it last? What helped?
She currently still drinks 4 bottles of formula (around 800 ml/day), drinks other liquids well, and honestly she seems hungry. No fever, no illness, no signs of teething (she already has six teeth).
I don’t know what to do. I’m also losing my own appetite over this. I feel like if she doesn’t eat, I can’t eat either. I’m trying really hard not to pressure her and for now I’m not even bringing the spoon to the table.
Has anyone been through this?

Quick and simple

We’re in the middle of moving so sardines, ritz and apple sauce is our lunch today. My 20 month old liked it more than the meals I put time and effort into 🫠

The mom guilt is real

Went to Costco after work and didn’t have time (or energy frankly) to make dinner, so we got a pizza. My 22m old loves it of course. But still, I feel guilty for having it for dinner! Normally it’s not something I worry much about but the internet made me feel bad this time. Sigh.

No end in sight to the blueberries

She's obsessed with them, some meals rejecting everything else. I generously sprinkle hemp hearts or chia seeds on them to give them more substance. Just wanted to share the tip in case anybody else is deep in the berry-only trenches, lol.

Eggy Rice!!

Always a hit in the mornings. Just mix steamed rice and an egg or two depending on how much rice you have until it becomes a sort of sludge (better if leftover rice)- and cook in a buttered pan until it becomes a sort of pancake? Kind of a random one, but good way to use leftovers and he LOVES this!

It's really just sensory play

She actually managed to eat a decent amount, but at 7 months it's mostly just mess making and exploring and putting terrifyingly large bites in her mouth.

Today’s lunch

I have been struggling lately with my daughter’s meals since she’s SO picky and cooking is a lot. I feel like I’ve just been rotating the same 3 meals since I’m 29 weeks pregnant and tired. But today I had a spurt of energy and made some pizza muffins and they were a hit (FINALLY!). She seemed to really enjoy. So happy toddler, happy mommy!

-homemade pizza muffins
-kiwi

What was served; what was eaten

Send help. 😑

(Both pics were taken after the fact for ✨ drama ✨ and the avocado did not include its peel… but rest assured it was an identical plate. 🫠)

Plate vs ate - I call this one “oh crap it’s 6pm and I forgot I’m supposed to feed another human”

and it is a HIT in our household!!! Our 7 month old goes HAM for spaghetti!!

Foods included: homemade meat sauce and spaghetti with short vermicelli/fideo noodles (because mama has ✨anxiety✨ about pasta), mashed potatoes, and grated Colby Jack. A lot of it ended up on the floor but a surprising amount was actually eaten!!!

Lunch for my princess 😭

Cooked apples, cheddar, beans, and torn up tortilla. In this economy it's this or leftovers, dear
