They’re getting along more and more every day! I’m so proud of Bubbles. For context, our male, Beethoven was rehomed while I was in college and reunited with us just a few months ago. When we had Beethoven before I went to school Bubbles absolutely hated him and wouldn’t even get close to him. Now in just a short few months she doesn’t cower away from him anymore, she preens him, stands next to him, and sometimes when she’s being really flexible she lets him preen her. I can’t wait to see their relationship grow.

She’s so photogenic

Bubbles sometimes likes to push things away with her foot when she doesn’t want them near her. When Beethoven came over asking to be preened she did this. Looks like she’s petting him or preening him with her foot 😂
Also huge update with allopreening! Bubbles let Beethoven preen her for the first time today! They’ve only been back in the same house for a little less than two months and they never did this when they were together a few years ago (Beethoven moved homes while I was in school). So happy that she’s willing to be friendly towards him this time around!

Bubbles back at it with her bizarre antics. Also I have collected 60 fallen primary wing & tail feathers from Bubbles and I have absolutely no idea what to do with them, any craft or display ideas?

Gushing about how cute my girl Bubbles is god I love her so much. I’m so lucky to have such a sweet easy going girl. She barely screams, she’s very gentle (with people she likes), she’s very polite when eating her food and doesn’t make a mess. She’s so quirky and funny too, she plays with her spit and always tries to preen herself with weird objects. I couldn’t be luckier and her coming into my life was totally unexpected. I’m so blessed.

Bubbles started preening Beethoven today. I would love for them to be friends but I DO NOT want them to mate. We don’t need anymore captive parrots in the world and I’m not willing to risk my female’s health. Should I nip this in the bud immediately or is it innocent for now?

Note: We provide them separate cages in different parts of the house, allow them plenty of sleep, do not pet anywhere but head & neck & provide no nesting spots. The only time they interact is when I’m with them, but I don’t know if that’s enough to prevent mating.
