I've recently started my Pertam base. Scorching heat, blasting wind, murderous arachnid wildlife; as Boris the Siberian Snow Goose says in the classic movie 'Balto', 'It's like holiday in Old Country'.

I've had a great time with the random Saberoid spawns, and had my face ripped off twice. But now I've got a decent rifle and some defence turrets, they've just...stopped. I've not seen a single one since the last hotfix went out, and it's got me worried. I was partial to those steaks, and am on the verge of having to go back to rabbit food.

I've tried turning Spiders off and on again, and was going to mess with the number of spawns per planet. But I just thought I'd check to see if anyone else was having the same issue. I've not added or changed any mods since before this issue started.

Any input would be great. I miss my little Saberoid buddies.

I finally did it.

I've set aside my Moon playthrough of 20 month, and started a new save on Pertam. And it's so much fun. Sandstorms, lightning, and those freaking spiders. This is great.

My only issue is that now, I'm tossing up where to build my base. I found a nice spot on a canyon, but it seems kinda restricted to me. But while scouting, I found this massive mesa in the middle of a plain. Enough space to set up some buildings in the open, but recess my critical facilities and hangers into the rock.

So I thought I'd ask here; canyon base, or mesa fortress? Let me know your thoughts!
