It just dawned on me, and I wonder what other thoughts there are on this. The stretch of episodes in C3 where the group is split up. I wonder if this was some small preparation for Campaign 4. At least to see if it would work/go over well in theory, having multiple tables.
Or perhaps a little early in the campaign to be thinking about the next? I couldn't say when ideas for C4 were being discussed.
