Thanks Raph und Zaknafain for cheering me up this much while hospitalized
To my Person, im a lifelong Gamer. Born in 91, i grew up with all Sorts of great Games, Pokemon, Resident evil (and yes i was allowed to play it this early on Ps1), Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Diablo, Gothic, Baldurs Gate, later on Oblivion and Skyrim...and many more. there are many legendary Games. Many games that i like to replay from time to time, many Games that mean alot to me.
But there is 1 Game i can never get enough of. 1 Game i hold in much higher Regard then everything else. 1 Game that is not just a Game, but also Therapy. And that is The Long Dark. I got countless Hours on Steam, playing it on the Go with my Switch or Steamdeck, at Gf's Place etc...
This Game is unique in many ways. The Artstyle. The immersion. The perfectly balanced way of implementing Realism into a survivalgame, but without making it feel like a hassle. The tense Moments you get when Weather has other plans than you do, a Hunt goes Wrong, when a run is fresh... versus the extremely relaxed Time you get when youre established, geared, and just enjoy the beautyful scenery while hunting, stocking up your regional Shelters, creating a perfect map, explore every little handplaced secret Hinterland knows so masterly to hide
When i saw the Video from Zak&Raph that TLD will get 2 new DLC, i couldnd help but ended up in Tears of joy. I play this Game since 8 Years more then everything else. If i had to play 1 Game for the rest of my Life, its this Game. No matter how stressful and shitty a Day could be, its nothing that 1,2, 3 or more Hours of TLD relaxmode cant fix.
But such a unique, perfect Game can only come from a unique and perfect Company.
I love Hinterland for prefering Handmade Things over generative AI crap (something much more Developer should do).
I love Hinterland for updating TLD for many Years without asking anything for it.
I love Hinterland for always listen to their Fanbase, and react (Things like spelunkers for Interloper, Scurvy toggleable on older Runs)
They are a Team that knows how to masterfully create a unique game, with so many creative ideas and such a beautyful World.
I have only favor. Please ask a fair Price your Team as well for future DLCs, not only for the Players, but both Sides.
TLD alone was very cheap, for the immense size of the map we got (for free) over the Years.
There are many Games that cost twice as much while having a Playthrough time of like... 8 or 10 Hours.
The Expansion for only 20€ with 3 Areas, 3 Tales, so much more Loot is a steal as well.
Dont get me wrong, i dont ask for this microtransaction shit that ruins many games today.
I just feel that Hinterland and Raph deserve more for delivering us so many over the years, and much of it for free.
Now i cant wait to get releasted from Hospital and start to play TLD again.
