RIP Jim Lahey

RIP Jim Lahey

I started playing SSF HC on full time players 8. Jim Lahey is first to fall. Rest in liquor, buddy. Made it to Frozen River A5 Hell and souls got me.

The way she goes

What’s your favorite lazy builds?

I’ve recently got my tesladin up and running and having a blast just walking cows and destroying large herds without attacking anything. I started a rabies Druid too and he’s pretty fun with cows but not in hell yet. Got any fun lazy mf builds you guys run?

Price check on this upped rare Eth Phase Blade

I have no idea if this has any trading value but its interesting. Eth, high IAS and high ED are cool.

My barb could put this to good use but cold damage is unfortunate

My son just predicted a ZOD

I’m a single parent, so time is pretty precious to me. I
wake up very early in the mornings to play. My 9 year old son has become super interested in the game (he has a level 24 necro).

I’m working on an offline grail and have been talking to him about the odds of things and what makes it such a long grind.

This morning he woke up way earlier than usual and was lying on the couch with me while I ran terror cows.

I said after all these hours the only runes I don’t have naturally dropped are Jah and Zod

“Imagine if today was the day you dropped a ZOD”

Two packs later, my first Zod dropped.

Cue much yahooing and high fives.

So stoked to have this little memory with him

Do you think there will be a big announcement for D2R at Blizzcon?

With Blizzcon coming in just over 3 weeks, I've been curious to see how many people believe that there will be some sort of big announcement happening at Blizzcon.

Melee weapon

What do you guys think about this weapon? The crazy about of DS is nice, I have it paired with a grief pb for my a5 barb mercenary

What character are you all planning for the new ladder this weekend?

I typically go for the usual Blizz Sorc to farm Mephisto and Andy for ages to build up the usual pieces and try get some currency.

I am strongly thinking of doing a horker this time around, I have no friends that play but open CS games could be the way to go.

What's your plans?

ilvls & crafting

I craft rings, amulets, berserker axes, gloves, etc. trying to make GG items, and I always wished the game had a way to show you the ilvls of an item. Sam's with charsi's imbue quest.

How do you figure out what items to use for crafting?

Zerker axes I mostly do for fun bc they can sometimes yield interesting results. More for novelty than actual use. I got 425% ED on a crafted Zerk axe once, they can get really good stats.

Season 15 tier list for controller play (input wanted!)

Hey everyone,

with the upcoming new season 15 for D2R RotW I was looking to find my personal starter build and while doing so came across some iterations that needed to be taken into consideration when choosing a build that works well on controller.

Hence I figured this might be relevant to other people on the one hand and I would greatly profit for my upcoming choice of starter build.

I will update the list based on the following discussion on suitable starters:

Amazon:

Javazon seems do be a very nice pick. Mix of dmg (phys/light) makes leveling solo viable and its scaling nicely into endgame. Controller auto-aiming is working great from what I hear.

Elemental bowazon (frost/fire) works well on controller. For a mana hungry build (frost side), the ability to automatically use potions from your inventory is nice feature. I don't notice any controller issues specific to the build, as opposed to general situations where controller lacks a bit (teleporting, quickly grabbing items from the floor when mobs are around, etc.) . I've got no comment on how it works for ladder start though.

Assasin:

Trapsin Works quiet well with controller. Placement of traps is peanuts and the build scales very nicely into the endgame. Lightning immuned are dealt with by corpse explosion mostly. Can use Fireblast or WoF or Kicks for lightning immunes. Death Sentry isn't always reliable. You can always skip them with MB + CoS though.

Bladesin is really strong. Works great on controller.

Barbarian:

Throw-barb works really well with auto aim and is great for p1.

Whirlwind works well as long as you’re not close to walls and controllers.

Druid:

Wind-Druid is kinda lackluster for controller due to the auto-aiming preventing a skilled placement of the nados to get the most out of them.

Necromancer:

Fishymancer works well, he's just kinda slow.

Paladin:

Hammerdin is quote on quote obviously good 😄 not sure about details yet, will add them, once i get more!

Sorceress:

Nova Sorc plays great on controller.

Some combination of Orb/Ball/Lightning/Nova (pick 2) is ok, tele still sucks though. Hydra is ok but sometimes it's frustrating because you can't place them passed the fire immunes that are rushing you.

FB/Meteor/Hydra sorc: Works well ~95% of the time. Sometimes I’ll be locked onto a target that’s behind a pillar or something random and hold down the FB/Hydra button and… crickets. Just blank stares all around. This is so irritating. It’s especially irritating when the game chooses to highlight said target that I can’t attack after I’ve already killed a few others in the vicinity.

Warlock:

Bowlock is very independent from gear. A detailed guide can be found here

Firelock plays well.

Fire away more classes and specs that work/dont work well with controller so we extend the list.

Thank you in advance ❤️

Things you didn't know, somehow, after playing for so long.

I'd like to start a thread of things that you learned after a long time of playing that would have helped you a lot along the way.

For example: after years and years of playing, I learned you can recharge a tele staff with a chipped gem and an ort rune. Not sure how that escaped me for so long. When you reach the point you can burn through orts, you can definitely afford the repair costs, but it feels like it saves me time with new characters to not have to go back to town. I just bring a couple orts and chips along(especially in act 3, where it feels like the blacksmith is on the other side of the world).

Server issues? Anyone else getting this?

Xbox. It goes down to 1 in queue and then tells me failed to connect to server. Over and over again

Heralds after the update.

I did two full games where I do most zones and killed all heralds. I'd say about 20 tier5 heralds all together. This is with an endgame abyss warlock with 400mf and TZ level 96, warlock is 94. Not a huge amount but enough to get a "feel". Honestly, I haven't noticed any difference to before the patch :( is it possible that the changes are not working in non-ladder? It still feels like regular champion packs have better drops (in terms of color). Also found zero sunder charms (not enough heralds to judge that).

Pit Runs
Shenk + Eldritch

I know it drops in lvl 85 zones i think, but not sure what zones are 85, plus other options?
idk

Also NON TZ ZONES, i know TZ drops it

Fury Druid merc setup

Question about build setups for my fury druids merc (act 2 might)

Right now I have two setups for my merc but I’m not sure which will be better.

Option 1: Gface, eth Mancatcher obedience, and fortitude

This would be to try to get the most raw dmg out of him

Option 2: Gface, reapers toll, and treachery

For this I’d socket the reapers and Gface to hit the 75 ias breakpoint with the aim to max decrepify procs to support my fury Druids dmg. My reapers isn’t eth so his dps would be notably lower especially w/o the ed from fort.

Is one of these setups miles better? And are there any other builds I should consider?
