I Love my new freewrite more than I thought I would and just wanted to share a few pics of my new writers nook!
After my long journey I have finally found my writer deck homes with my Palma 2 and a mechanical keyboard for on the go, and the Freewrite Smart Typewriter 3rd Edition for at home writing.
In my search for the perfect device, I did acquire a Pomera and paid the premium price to get the DM250US Version. As some of you may know, as of March of this year (2026), "Due to Logistics..." the price of the Pomera DM250US has gone up significantly to $549USD plus tax and Shipping. This has tempted me to keep mine however, I am not using it at all and would rather it go to an author or hobby writer who will give it the love and attention it deserves. I had listed it on Mercari however the fees they were charging me made a big enough hike in how much I would have to sell it for made me decide to try posting it here again.
The unit I have is truly in "Like New" Condition and will come with:
The unit and original charging cable and plug.
The box and instrructions.
A memory card for additional writing space (Not included with the original unit).
(see pictures)
I am selling it for $400USD + shipping and am pretty firm on the price. I will not ship outside the US. I may consider trading for the new Palma if in MINT condition.
Please Message me if interested.

My first attempt: The Pomera DM250 US
What I loved:
Why it wasn't for me:
Attempt 2: Samsers Bluetooth keybaord & the Musnap Neo E-Ink Tablet
What I liked:
Why it wasn't for me:
Attempt 3: BYOK and a TMKB T63 keyboard
What I loved:
Why it wasn't for me:
Attempt 4: 2 XTEINK X4 mini E-Readers and a TMKB T63 keyboard
What I loved:
Why it wasn't for me:
My Final Choice: The Boox Onyx Palma 1 and the TMKB T63 Keyboard plus my own web app Marginalia
Why this is my choice:
All this is to say it took me a lot of time, patience, research and questions (thanks to all here) tinkering, and money, but, I am glad I finally found my set-up!
Because I don't want them to collect dust, I am selling my BYOK with keyboard and stand, and my Pomera DM250 US with the original charger and a micro-SD card and I want them to go to good homes. If you are interested, they are listed below:

I love everything about the BYOK with one caveat. I realized I really like having my notes on one side and my writing space on the other. (similar to the Pomera DM250) Is there any way a feature could be added where you upload your notes as a DM or TXT file and they populate on the left (dividing the screen in half) and the free writing space on the right? I know it may be a pipe dream but i would be willing to sacrifice the screen space just to have this feature
Thought I would ask this here to see if anyone is interested.
I am looking for a tinkerer or programmer who would be interested and willing to build me a custom writer deck. Everything currently available gets close to what I am looking for but so far each deck is missing something either hardware or software wise and while i know I could get pretty close to what I want with a tablet, or e-reader and a bluetooth keyboard. I really want something that is either one unit or if it is like the BYOK, it has the missing features I am looking for software wise it may even be as simple as 3d printing parts and using something like a palma as the main hardware. I don't have a 3d printer and I have a tremor that gets pretty bad so it is very difficult for me to try to build things on my own.
I would pay for the cost of parts, time and shipping.
Please DM me if you are interested.

Thought I would ask this here and in the cyber deck forum to see if anyone is interested.

After tons of research and stalking this forum, I originally bought the Pomera 250US. While it had all the features I wanted, the keyboard felt cramped to me and so I started looking for alternatives. I ended up trying the eink and keyboard setup but couldn't deal with the ink ghosting and battery life, so I tried the BYOK. While I love the idea and maybe in the future will try it again, I don't like that the BYOK doesnt have the split screen mode that I got used to for drafting (I thought I could handle it but I cant) on the Pomera. So, at least for now, the Pomera will be my go to device and I am selling my white BYOK. if anyone is interested, let me know!
Hey everyone,
As a fellow writer, I always felt there was a gap in my digital workflow—that specific moment you move from a detailed outline or a stack of chapter cards to writing the actual first draft. I wanted an environment that was simpler than Scrivener but more structured than a blank text file.
I got tired of jumping between my notes and my manuscript, getting distracted by fussy formatting, or worrying about vendor lock-in with proprietary file types. I wanted a tool that felt like sitting down with a typewriter and a stack of index cards, but with the convenience of modern tech.
Since I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, I decided to build it myself. It's called Marginalia, and the philosophy is simple: From the margins to the story.
It's a free, open-source, and distraction-free web app designed specifically for the drafting phase.
**bold**, *italic*, # Chapter), so you can easily export your manuscript to Word, Atticus, or any other professional software without worrying about cleanup. This app is for you if you're a plotter who drafts from a pre-written outline or if you just want a simple, quiet place to write your manuscript without the feature-bloat of larger programs. It's not meant to replace Scrivener for research or Obsidian for note-linking; it's purpose-built for the focused act of drafting.
I built this as a passion project and I'm sharing it because I hope it can help other writers too. I would be incredibly grateful for any feedback you have.
Thanks for checking it out!

Finally put together my first DIY writer deck and I’m kind of obsessed with how it’s turning out. I wanted something portable that felt less like “opening a laptop to answer emails” and more like “unfolding a tiny story laboratory.”
Current setup:
• Musnap Neo as the writing brain
• Added a MagSafe ring to the back of the Neo so it can magnetically snap onto my setup and play nicely with accessories
• OMOTON 360° Rotating MS04 Magnetic Phone Stand for adjustable positioning and quick rotation depending on what I’m doing
• Samsers Foldable Full-Size Keyboard KF08X for actual typing comfort without hauling around a keyboard-shaped paving stone
• reMarkable 2 for the manuscript post-writing autopsy, notes, and scene surgery
The idea was building something portable that can eventually keep scene cards on one side, my manuscript on the other, and let me drop into writing mode with as little friction as possible.
I’m still making upgrades, but there’s something strangely satisfying about sticking a MagSafe ring onto an e-ink device and watching the setup gain a new little superpower. The whole thing unfolds from “random collection of gadgets” into “compact story engine” in a few seconds.
Still a work in progress, so I’m curious what other DIY writer deck builders would add next, and does anyone know a good distraction-free writing app for android that can do split screen similar to the Pomera’s comparison screen mode, and a free home launcher app that allows you to change the home screens background to your own image?
Any constructive suggestions welcome!
