Dehumidifier recommendations

Hello everyone,

Part of my house is under a crawl space about 400 square feet . To get into the crawl space , I have an opening thru my basement . I want to encapsulate the crawl space but want to keep the dehumidifier hanging in the basement using ducks for the intake and outtake. I have two questions:

  1. Do you know of a quality dehumidifier where I can put the humidity sensor under the crawlspace that the dehumidifier will read from and turn on and off accordingly based on that reading ,even though the sensor will be about 12 feet away from the dehumidifier since I want to keep the dehumidifier in the basement and the sensor in the crawlspace?

  2. Do you know of a dehumidifier where the intake and outtake are not an opposite ends of the dehumidifier? Either next to each other or on perpendicular sides as opposed to next to each other

What type of vapor barrier works to stop soil gases in crawlspace?

Hello everyone. I’m interested in having my crawl space encapsulated with the works ( dehumidifier, insulation etc). Is there any vapor barrier that works not just to stop moisture, but soil gases as well? I’m hoping to avoid installing a crawlspace fan vent, which I know some people do for this issue. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
