Food Quality Question

We recently sailed on Allure and while we had a great time, we noticed a solid decrease in the quality of food onboard and I wondered if anyone else has had this experience?

We’ve sailed a lot (this was our 9th cruise, 3rd on an Oasis class) and granted, our previous two sailings were Virgin and Disney, but we remembered loving Royal’s food both in the main dining and in the Windjammer and we didn’t have that experience this time. The meat was tough or chewy anytime we got steak (various cuts), and overall everything was just kind of eh?

Note to add: service was INCREDIBLE and it has nothing to do with that or even the chefs, everything was prepared beautifully but the taste just continually fell flat. Sign of the current times and a sad side effect? Royal just being cheap? Would love to know anyone else’s thoughts!

Best tips for cruising with a baby under 1?

We are sailing in a few weeks with our baby, who will be 10 months old at the time. This will be his first big trip! I’m mostly excited but there’s some things I’m nervous about.

For instance, we have some shows booked at night that I know we might not make it to because he goes to bed early (before 8pm, the shows start at 7pm our time). I’m wondering if I could practically take him in his carrier and allow him to start his sleeping AT the show, with baby sound blocking headphones? Or if that’s totally impractical?

I’m also curious about things like strollers, if you flew to a port did you take a sort of travel system for your car seat and stroller? If so do you have a recommendation?

We plan on being extremely loose with all plans and activities and catering to whatever he needs, but I’d love any tips for making sure we have the best time possible! We’ll be sailing on Allure with family.
