Well, hello!

Well, hello!

I just learned about the sub today and I'm thrilled this exists! I thought I'd share a sampling of my collage art because I love using security envelopes.

Slow and steady...

Hey y'all! So I figure I'll just go ahead and give all the 411 that often gets asked about in the sub, but please feel free to ask any questions if you want.

My stats at 11 months in...

57F 5'9"

SW: 231 CW: 201 GW: 🤷🏼

6 weeks at 2.5 (pens).

35 weeks at 5 (pens then switched to vials).

7 weeks at 7.5 (vials).

When I switched to vials I also switched from chasing down stock at local pharmacies to EliLilly Direct. Much easier process, although the vials required me to get past the mental hang-up of 'giving myself a shot'. Insurance has never covered any of my injections, unfortunately.

I use the Shotsy app to track weight and injections. I only inject in the stomach area.

Other random info...

I'm down a size and a bit more. I started as a size snug 18/XL. Now a comfortable 16/L and even bought a couple of size 14 recently.

Had to get a silicone ring because my wedding band flew off my hand back in February. I've already had to get a size smaller silicone ring because the first one got too big.

I started Zepbound to help my Chronic Fatigue that had become out of control. I have a very supportive doctor who said it was a good idea to try it and that my weight qualified me to give it a go. It's been like a miracle medicine for my Chronic Fatigue. I noticed a difference very quickly. And the weight loss has helped, too. While my weight loss has been slow, I'm quite pleased with the progress. It took a while, but eventually I could see the difference.

I do not count/track calories. I don't restrict any foods. My exercise is walking, gardening, light yoga, resistance bands, and e-biking.

I am one of those not open about being on Zepbound outside my main circle of family/friends (~12 people). Partly because I'm fairly private about stuff (despite this detailed post 😁) and partly because I have some people in my life that I am not interested in what I know will be their unsolicited and uneducated opinions.

This sub has been an invaluable resource and I appreciate everyone sharing their stories and stats and thoughts!

JUST finished our first watch...

My husband and I JUST finished watching through BSG for the first time. Good show that grew on us. We particularly liked the last season and thought they did a good job of wrapping up the stories. We also liked how they showed everyone settling in on Earth. Here are some thoughts off the top of my head while it's fresh.

-Favorite from start to finish... Dr. Cottle!! I liked him every time he was on screen.

-Liked from the get-go and through til the end... Roslin & Adama. Their relationship was subtle and mature and I loved them together.

-Annoyed me from the get-go and pretty much throughout... Baltar, Starbuck, Apollo, Ellen. It was in the last couple of episodes that I finally liked them.

-Slowly grew on me over the series and became an absolute favorite...Col. Tigh and his grumpiness. He cracked us up several times. His bromance with Adama was a bonus.

-Also grew on me over the series... Caprica in all her models.

-Favorite secondary characters... Lampkin, The Base Ship Hybrid. We were humored by Lampkin's position in the final episode.

-Liked them the whole time (well, while they were alive)... Dee, Billy.

-Liked them until I didn't and then I really disliked them... Gaeta, Tory.

-My like/dislike waxed and waned throughout... Chief, Helo.

-Annoyed me the whole time and I kinda feel bad about it, but annoyed me nonetheless... Cally, Kat, Boomer.

Okay that's my brain dump. Thanks for letting me get it out!

Edited: A couple of other thoughts... I'm bummed they never fashioned a better eye patch for Tigh. I liked the red sashes painted on the rebel Cylons in the last battle. It would've been fun if Adama had taken the model ship to Earth for the cabin. When Chief said at the end he was tired of being around people, I felt that in my overstimulated introvert soul.

Here are my favorites thus far...

It's been two weeks since my first haul. These are the ones that have jumped to the top and are getting used on the daily. I haven't been able to find a couple of these to have as backups (face wash and toner wipes), but hopefully eventually maybe 🤞

Well, I fell down the rabbit hole that is this sub and Dr. Dray and the next thing I know I'm at Dollar Tree loading up on stuff to try. So thanks a lot, y'all 😉

I'm definitely a fan of the Revitalizing Eye Serum, Extreme Renewal Cream, and Lip Balm.

Today I tried the Hydro Plus Cleanser, Oatmeal Milk Toner, and the Derma Prep Collagen & Peptide. So far I like them all.

A couple of days ago on a post I made someone linked to this podcast of Henry Sledge sharing about The Pacific series. Thank you! It is really insightful. It was lovely hearing his thoughts and feelings about the series, his father, and even the actors (particularly Joseph and Rami). I appreciated that in the final episode he speaks on his uncle's service, too.

One of my takeaways is that Henry obviously liked and was humored by Snafu.

I'm looking forward to reading Henry's book.

I finished a back-to-back rewatch of BoB and The Pacific. Both are absolutely exceptional, but I find that The Pacific is the one that stays with me the most. Particularly Sledge's entire story. At the end of the final episode when they give life updates and it said that Sledgehammer was a pallbearer at Snafu's funeral...that got me all in my feelings!

Also, on this rewatch I found myself drawn into Leckie's story and his struggles moreso than in the past. I have his book and will read it soon.
