Has Central Dairy ruined other ice cream shops for anyone else?

I’ve been going to Central Dairy my whole life, and the combination of portion size, price, and product quality is unlike anything I’ve experienced elsewhere. And it honestly set my expectations at an utterly unfair level for all other shops.

Tonight I drove by Clementine’s and saw dozens of people standing in line outside and I thought to myself that it just can’t be worth it. To be fair, I haven’t been yet, but I imagine that the price, portion, and product all won’t compare to Central. Same thing with Sparky’s (though I of course love Sparky’s for what it has meant to CoMo).

Am I the only one who is disappointed because of this admittedly unfair comparison?

Latest on the DBRL situation

It's not time to worry yet, but it could be soon. The library needs all the support this community can muster.

Hopefully it'll blow over (like almost every Republican culture war item of the day) but it's no guarantee. Much of this state hates us.

I cringe every time I see this

The Blind Boone display in Raising Cane’s contains an obvious historical error. You don’t have to be como365 to figure out who our county was really named after.

I wonder if the person who wrote this thinks “Boone’s Lick” refers to a sweet riff the pianist was known for.
