For anyone who’s made the jump to UV large-format printing, what’s something you wish you’d known before buying your first printer?

I've been hearing a lot of different opinions lately about outgassing times for solvent, eco-solvent, and latex prints, and it's got me wondering what people are actually doing in the real world.

Most manufacturers seem to recommend waiting 24–48 hours before laminating solvent or eco-solvent prints, but I've heard all kinds of approaches:

* "I laminate straight away and have never had a problem."

* "Anything less than 24 hours is asking for trouble."

* "For heavy ink coverage, I wait at least 72 hours."

* "HP Latex? No outgassing needed."

So what's your experience?

If you're running a vehicle wrap shop or a high-volume production environment, are you sticking to the manufacturer's recommendations, or have you found your own timeline that works reliably?

Have you ever had a job fail because it was laminated too soon? Or maybe you've been pushing the limits for years without any issues?

I'd love to hear both the success stories and the lessons learned. Outgassing seems to be one of those topics where everyone has a different answer, and I'm curious to see where the industry really stands.

Every new printer launch seems to focus on speed, colour gamut, resolution, or the latest printhead technology.

But after talking to people across the industry, I'm not convinced those are the things that have the biggest impact on day-to-day production.
