Farewell BBC Radio 4 on 198 KHz LW

https://www.bbc.com/mediacentre/articles/2026/radio-4-broadcasts-on-long-wave-to-end#:~:text=BBC%20Radio%204%20broadcasts%20on,its%20life%20as%20a%20technology.

Its been a good run. That LW transmitter gave vital news to occupied Europe, and could transmit to the entire continent with a single transmitter. As someone who loves radio, I confess I still would tune on LW. Could be heard out at sea, in mines, and at the bottom of the sea in subs due to its wavelength and groundwave propagation of the radio signals.

I will be listening for the last time this evening before turning to my FM dial. If you want one last time to listen to it, tune in tonight.

Tonight is the last night to try and DX the station. Here is a recent DX of 198 heard in Canada this month: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1T5NGB0ops
