dont work too hard on resets or they'll force you to help other stores

by the grace of god and a lot of overnight shifts (i guess for that one thing i can thank our dm for) we are every so slightly ahead in pogs (by a week) so instead of allowing us to fix everything we ignored while focusing on the resets, we now have to send staff to other stores that are behind on their pogs. was told it was an ask right now but it'll become a demand if they can't get anyone to volunteer. im ALL about helping our neighbors, but we NEVER get help. even during our inventory we had TWO people show up from other stores. yet we are supposed to send people out?? what??

backer paper?

are y'all putting backer paper up for your frame reset? it doesn't make any sense to me to have two panels with backer paper than three without then two with. SO ugly! im thinking of just not doing the backer paper at all...

birthday parties with no classroom

just need to rant bc im so angry. why the fuck would they expect us or even WANT us to run a birthday party when we don't have a classroom or private space to host. our breakroom isn't big enough so even if i could move all the shit out, it wouldn't work. we have had 3 parties in the past year and im certain none would return simply because we do not have the space. the customers know it, the staff know it, corporate doesn't give a fuck. doing a party or private event in the same spot we do make breaks makes ZERO sense. i refuse to push birthday parties for this reason. i feel bad for my manager bc it's the one service sale we are WAY below plan on, but i just can't promote it. i feel like i ethically cannot 😭

meta glasses...

im sure most of us have dealt with customers wearing meta glasses but im 99% sure i just saw my coworker wearing them while clocked in on the floor (im not an expert but they like held down a button on the side, i think they were some sort of knock offs but definitely records) and i don't know what to do... i don't wanna be an asshole to my coworker but he works front end sometimes and that seems like a huge breach of customer privacy for him to be recording

Coaching SOP

Does anyone know or can share any insight on the SOP for coachings? We do two a day at my store and they're on rewards/cashier metrics 99% of the time. Honestly any information you can share is helpful because I am growing *so* frustrated with them (as well as a million other things I could rant about... but oh well!)

what do y'all think about the new 10 min frame incentive? i think it's a good idea personally

for those that don't know if a store hits their 10 min frame goal for may every employee who sold one will receive a $5 bonus per frame

I'm curious if anyone has some positive stories they wanted to share about their coworkers/managers here at Michaels? Mainly because I just need to see some positivity to not feel total despair 😭😭 It's getting real rough out here. I often see people say their coworkers is one of the main reasons they stay/like their job so I bet some of you have something to share.

Like my coworker knows I love this specific tv show so they made a bracelet for me and I was so touched 😭❤️
