Transfering to another store

Hey guys. I am currently working at a big store in new york. (Fulton street) I am from hoboken jersey and its kind of a long commute cause of the metro. I want to transfer to a store thats actually in my state but the stores here are small therefore less budget, less hours and less pay. Would It be worth moving to a smaller compact location nearby? I am getting 20 and hour being a regular colleague and the same position I am covering in fulton street they have open and that one starts at 14 and maxes at 19. Is there a chance an exception can be made for me to keep my 20? I am looking for full time as well. How different would the smaller store be to the one im used to? The stores is inside a mall thats kinda dead so its usually pretty empty. Please give me advice and recommendations 🙏🏼.

December Season

Hey reddit. Does anyone know when each store starts hiring seasonal employees? Last year we got around 10 seasonals for AYS (Our store is a big store with A and B building) and they started hiring them around september but they didn’t end up getting hours until november. Is it usually this way? Also. If anyone knows when the playlist will change to the christmas songs because Im tired of taylor swift and Zara Larsson playing at the same time. In christmas Ik i’ll miss them because christmas music and retail rush doesn’t mix. 😂😂

How many hours are workers getting?

I’ve been working at macy’s for 2 years now for different departments and it looks like all the hours on each department keep going down. When I did sales I used to get 40 flat every week and transferred to another department because hours were going down… Did that for 3 times until I ended up working AYS and barely getting 30 hours a week. I know it varies from store to store but my store is the 3rd biggest one in the US. Is any other employee having this same problem?
