Recently, I had bought a Casio watch at a Macy’s. The guy behind the counter had no idea what he was doing when he was trying to resize it and after 30 minutes, it was still way too big. I took it to my local Macy’s to have them resize it instead. When they resized it, they had also left it a little too big butt. The watch seller was telling me how she likes her watches to be extra loose so I tried it turns out I don’t like my watches to be loose. I like them to be a little tighter so I have to go back. It also turns out that this specific watch takes a specific tool and so the woman who resized it used her own personal tools so now I have to go back and ask for her specifically my question is since I didn’t buy the watch from her and I’m making her do all of these resizing. Can I tip her? I don’t know if watch sellers make commission at all, but she’s not the one who sold it to me and she’s doing all of this work. I just wanna help give her something. if I can’t tip her what about a “gift“ like a card with something in it. I just feel bad. I’m making her do all of this when she’s not even the one who sold it to me.

How much trouble would a manager be in if they denied you a day off that you have an ADA Accommodation for?

I tried to return shoes at my store today. They were purchased online and I had the receipt, they were unworn, and in original box with all tags. I did not know about the 30 day return policy, and these were 40 days past purchase. They would not let me return. Would it be possible to go back without the receipt and try again? I think it's pretty crazy I couldn't even get store credit. I was on vacation during that time and have a new baby at home.

I used to have lots of coupons attached to my account. They were neverending. Just logged on and there are none!?! Anyone know what happened? I could always find 25% off. And I have a Macy's credit card. So weird

So got hired and after the first month a manager came up to me about my hair and said to me "you need to go buy a comb for it & do your hair" I felt it was weird at first and paid no mind and said I will get it done but unfortunately I'm kinda busy to do it
ASAP but I went in the next day and again I felt like I kept getting strange glances from other managers,
Then the same manager comes and says that "the executive managers keep bringing up my hair and how unprofessional and impolite it looks. So I told her that I don't know what to do cause I combed my 4c hair and make it the most proper looking I could make it and she said" well do something with it".
After both situations I was pulled in a room two different times one for my dress code because I had a quarter zip sweater on and was told to go through the dress code module. The second time happened with one of the executive managers were in this room with me and the same manager this time was about my dress code Evaluation, and I said I don't feel like I break dress code with a sweater so why do I keep getting stopped for it and the manager said that it's not so much my dress code it's my hair and the way it's maintained. I try my best to keep my hair clean and neat while still maintaining 4c hair So I told friends and family about the experience and they explained the crown act to me and how this can become a legal thing where | possibly can sue or just bring it up to Human Resources but I don't know cause I don't wanna report and get treated shit because of it or even fired so I just wanna know opinions,if I pursue this what would happen, and if they can do this.

Ok so I received a package from Macy’s in my name, with a full bottle of perfume. The price doesn’t show on the receipt that came in the package, my Macy’s order history doesn’t show any recent orders, and I checked any recent transactions I had made.. nothing from Macy’s. I do order from them sometimes, and I did order this specific perfume last year. But I still don’t know why I’m getting another bottle sent to me for free??? Is this some mistake/scam or something? 😭

Hi I’m a CM for one of the beauty brands. I got hired in April. I heard talk about getting time and a half for working on the 4th. I am working that day but don’t know if I’ll be getting that. Does anyone else have any info on this topic?

She will pass snarky comments intended to humiliate me, say my name in a weird manner etc

She changed my schedule, even though I told her that I wanted to spend time with my son during his summer break. And when I came in for my shift and was busy cleaning out the fitting rooms and helping customers, she had a big smile and she said to me, aren’t you happy that you changed your schedule to come at 2:45 to 9:30.

when it was almost time for me to leave, she deliberately made me late by asking me to help measure a customer for a bra and to do a transaction for a customer when I also had to clean the fitting rooms and close the register.

And they want me to do 2 position…

Saw another post on here about harassment from a captain. We have a similar situation happening where a team member is harassing others and making racist comments. Leadership and hr was notified but no visible change was made. It seems like the store leadership does not have any of the victims backs. What else can be done to help?

Today is my last day at Macys. I worked for Macys in 2019 as a shoes sales associate for about a year and then that position became elimainted since my store went to self-serve for shoes. I came back as a seasonal after applying to many many jobs (I was in graduate school for education but I withdrew because I hated it). I worked at the same store that I worked at in 2019. We are the only Macys in the area unless you went to drive to bigger cities that are 3-4 hours away. I think there is also a couple in the neighboring state but not many. As, I move on I think about my time at Macys and even though its retail, customers are draining, working holidays/weekends and a inconsistent schedule is very draining. I did value my time at Macys.

I do fear that in a couple of years my store may be in trouble for closure. My last couple of shifts during my last two weeks we have been competely dead. Even on a Friday or Saturday. My store manager even said during a rally that we don't have the foot traffic as we used to. I honestly think it's because of our selection, we don't have petities, or plus size. we also don't have a lot of the higher brands that customers come in asking for ( raphl lauren polo (men's and women's), calvin klein (all we have are the mens suits), Nike, brikenstock, north face, Bar III, Tommy Hilfiger etc) my store manager said that it's because plus size and petities don't sell which is crazy to me because I get asked a lot whenever I worked in RTW.

It's also disheartening to tell customers we don't have the brands they want, that I can order it for them ( a lot of our customers are eldery and don't want to mess with ordering online or even know how to do it). Then, they go to Dillards that does have it and we lose business. Another reason is because of shortage, I know the higher value brands are the ones for theft. However, it's since a double standard because we don't have loss prevention at all at my store and associates are expected to ''customer service'' as customers that are suspected of theft.

Another manager told me that Macys corporate wants to focus the product on Macy's in house brands. I am going to be honest some of the qualilty of our Macy's brands equal to about what you can find at a Ross or burlington for way less.

All, in all I do wonder what will happen to my current store in a couple of years? I don't know if we are big enough for a backstage but I do think that would do really well considering I've noticed an increase in last act customers.

These are just my thoughts, does anyone work at a store similar? My store is the smallest in our division I think.

Why is ringing up your own merchandise considered misconduct?

macy's has worst customer service ever!! I ordered something online and used my egift card. But unfortunately, the size didn't fit and I returned right away. I saw an email came through and said they received on 15Jun, so I thought they will be refunding me soon. However, on 29Jun, I still received Nothing. I called customer service, they said they cannot refund me egift card, they will have to mail me a physical gift card via USPS. Why??!! It says on website, the payment will be refunded as orignal form, Why Cannot refund me back in egift card?? Now I don't know when I will be receiving this card, it has been one week past, they even not ship out yet. Please go buy somewhere else if you can avoid Macy's at all!

Hi everyone. Can the manager make a fragrance part time associate work in the inventory day?

Does "PTO" roll over in MA or do I need to use all my remaining hours by end of fiscal year and what date would that be?

How about sick-safe MA/PTO does that roll over?

I asked AI and they said you should always use your PTO since it expires and save your Sick-Safe/PTO since it rolls over yearly. So basically it says save your sick-safe so it rolls over and doesn't pull from your PTO bucket when it gets filled up at the start of the year.

Also my flexible holiday remaining is 16.00. The eligible type is Days and I have 12.00 carryover and 2.00 scheduled. Does that mean I get 16 flexible holidays left this year and they do not rollover in MA? I transferred from CA this year. AI says CA doesn't allow use it or lose it policies so I will be able to take the remaining 16 days and in the future since I am in MA, will be capped to 6.

So just put in my 2 weeks and wanted to know how much pto I would be paid out on but got mixed answers from HR and the management
I know we just got to the halfway mark of the year
So as currently I have 60 hours of PTO/Sick
1 flex holiday
And 10 carryover hours
I know they are not going to pay for the full but It would be helpful for a rough estimate
