Strong lamp oil smell

Strong lamp oil smell

Hello everyone, this is my first oil lamp ( glass chimney being washed currently photo for fun)

I have bought heritage lamp oil and find that it gives off a strong fuel smell that makes me nauseated.

Is this normal or is there other oils that have virtually no smell?

A subreddit to help me find the title of a 90s hockey series of hockey highlight videos that was on VHS.

I can recall certain sound tracks from the hockey film. I believed it was Don cherrys rock em sock ‘em hockey but there is a certain song I remember from the film and it isn’t in any of the ones I’ve seen posted on YouTube from his series.

The good the bad the middle ground

Happy Sunday everyone. In the last year I’ve really enjoyed collecting fragrances. I have bought some designer ( Tom fords, Burberry, BDK, Dior , etc) I’ve also had cheap dupes.

Different times in the year I can afford getting that Tom ford others I need to prioritize other things.

Odyssey mega and polo67 extreme have been my 2 favorite of the year. I’m getting tired of wearing mega though and polo 67 is 170$plus tax which is slightly too expensive for me right now.

I’m looking to you guys for help. My budget is 50-100$ to find something.

For reference in suggestions the above 2 I love and Rayhaan tiger I hated.

A Journey to saving enough but what can get me buy?

Hello everyone, in the last year fragrances have been such a great interest to me and I’ve enjoyed it very much even if it was mostly logging and studying what I may like and dreaming about having it one day.

Even though I may not be able to afford these fragrances this is a way for me to be part of the community in some way. I live in a very northern rural community with no access to shopping malls or big box stores. This limits me from getting out there too have a chance to smell fragrances.

Which brings me to my question. I understand these are master piece fragrances but Is there something more affordable that I could buy to get me buy until I save enough money to purchase one of these fragrances.

My favorite so far has been odyssey mega and polo 67 which I only had a sample for but I loved it.

As I try and explore other genres of fragrances I hope the community can help guide me

Brand new black car ( weekend warrior)

Im picking up a brand new car straight from the showroom and I’m trying to decide what to put on the paint for protection and gloss.

PPF unfortunately isn’t an option for me. I’m in a smaller area and there’s nobody around here who does PPF, so I’m looking at DIY paint protection instead.

These are the three products I’ve been considering:

  1. Cerakote Platinum Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant
  2. Magic Shield Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating
  3. Koch-Chemie ProtectorWax

My original thought was either:

Graphene → ProtectorWax

or

Cerakote → ProtectorWax

or possibly just ProtectorWax by itself.

I’m mainly looking for good protection, gloss, slickness and hydrophobic properties, while keeping the application reasonably DIY-friendly. I’m not necessarily looking for something that lasts 5+ years.

The Cerakote interests me because it seems pretty straightforward to apply. Their instructions basically have you work panel-by-panel, spray it on, wipe it in and immediately buff it off.

The Koch-Chemie ProtectorWax also interests me because I’ve heard really good things about the gloss and water behavior. Koch-Chemie describes it as a high-gloss protective wax with strong water repellency and easy-clean properties.

One thing I’m confused about: I’ve been reading through a bunch of detailing subreddits and there seems to be a LOT of hate for ceramic coatings/sealants. I don’t really understand it. I personally love the look of a properly ceramic-coated vehicle.

I do understand that some of the more serious ceramic coatings require proper paint prep, application technique and leveling/buffing, and that you can potentially create high spots if you don’t know what you’re doing. That’s why I’m leaning toward something like the Cerakote or Graphene spray rather than attempting a professional-level coating myself.

For a brand-new vehicle, would you guys:

● Go Cerakote + ProtectorWax?

● Go Graphene + ProtectorWax?

● Use ProtectorWax alone and just reapply it periodically?

● Skip all three and use something completely different?

I’m also completely open to other product suggestions. Thanks!
