At which BMI did your period come back?

Hey all.

Tw: numbers

Since 4 years, i'm dealing with stomach issues, to the point i sometimes can bearly eat. In total, i lost 20kg.

In August 2025 i had a Big flare, and lost 5kg. This is when i lost the last 5 kg. My BMI went from 18 to 16 and my periods became extremely light (just lasted one day) and irregular. In january, my GI doc prescribed me sulpiride, a neuromodulator which helps in functional GI diseases. It allowed me to start eating again. In 5 month, i put 5kg and my BMI is back at 18. The thing is, when i started sulpiride, my periods stopped altogether. I don't know whether it's because of my drastic weight loss or because sulpiride increases prolactin levels, le both.

I have just learnt amenorreah causes osteoporosis and am now freaking out. What if my periods never return?

Should i be that worried about osteoporosis?

I have one big question for those who have regained their periods : did they come back when you reached the weight you were when they stopped ? Or did you have to put on more weight? What was your BMI when they returned?
