Thanatos (Death) Travel Altar
Hi all! I’m crafting a travel altar for Lord Thanatos so I can bring the altar with me when I visit cemeteries and graveyards. So far, I have divination tools such as an obsidian pendulum, a mini tarot deck, and soon I’ll be getting a small obsidian scrying mirror to add as well. I have Mulberry Leaf (I felt compelled to add it) with a mini note book, pen and a pencil, and clary sage essential oil. The small clear box as a tumbled black tourmaline crystal, my grandpas ivory tusk he gave to me before passing away, and a jaw bone piece I found at a nearby beach with my boyfriend.
I added a spoon for no particular reason other than it being copper. I have an antique skeleton key I added as well. I put coins in the small black bag as offerings as well as mini quartz pieces from my local river. And ofc there’s white and black candles. I put the bag plushie on the strap because I know bats are associated with the underworld and are like messengers. Lastly I have an obsidian grim reaper statue to represent Lord Thanatos and a reusable cotton bag that I use for teas. (I felt like I should put the cotton bag in the travel altar but I’m not sure why lol.)
Anyone have any recommendations on what I should add? I plan on going to the cemetery’s and graveyards yards to tend to the graves, leave offerings, communicate with spirits, and take pictures of the headstones for a website called “Find A Grave” where people request pictures of headstones for the deceased persons online obituary.
