Why Does Amtrak Restrict This Round Trip?

Tomorrow afternoon, I want to take my train-loving son on a quick round trip from Van Nuys, CA (VNC) to Santa Barbara, CA (SBA). I'd like to take #777, which arrives to SBA at 5:45 pm. The southbound Starlight departs SBA at 6:20pm, but it's not an option to choose when trying to book a round trip. Why? I can just book two one way tickets no problem, but I'm restricted from buying it as a round trip?

Does invulnerability mean numbness? Can Superman feel "normal" sensations?

Hey everyone,

Something I’ve always wondered about Superman’s invulnerability is whether it cuts him off from experiencing "normal" physical sensations.

We know he can withstand extreme temperatures, fly at skin-shredding speeds, bounce bullets off his eyes without flinching, and can casually pick up with one hand a 500,000 ton key to the Fortress of Solitude. Because his body is so incredibly durable, it makes me wonder about everyday sensory input:

  • Touch: When Lois touches his cheek or holds his hand, does he feel the soft texture of her skin, or is his skin too dense for that to register?
  • Temperature: Does he actually feel the difference between a freezing winter day in Metropolis and a muggy summer heatwave, or is it all just "neutral" to him?
  • Hearing: Since he can hear a call for help from hundreds of miles away, is a normal, everyday conversations and sounds right next to him deafening? Can Superman ever actually experience true silence?
  • Strength: When he lifts something "light" to him, like a car or a steel beam, does it actually feel like lifting a piece of styrofoam? Does he have to consciously gauge his own strength just to pick up a coffee mug without crushing it?

Has this ever been explicitly addressed or made canon in any specific comic runs? I'd love to know how you think his sensory processing works!
