Pain management and botched surgery

I was only given 8 oxys (along with ibuprofen and Tylenol) to mange the pain from my DJS and genio. I rationed and only used at night, but on day 10 I’m in pain and I have to have a revision surgery next week. I’m really upset with my surgeon, he barely gave me time at my post-op appointment to ask anything, and the time I did have I kind of forgot to say anything because I was given the news that another surgery was needed. Is this a normal amount of pain meds? Even after I told the surgeon he was just like you’ll get more for the second surgery, but no care that I’m in pain right now. The revision includes something for my sinuses because they gave me anything extremely deviated septum and they said something about upper jaw surgery. This has been the hardest week of my life, and the only positive thing was my improvement, but knowing I’ll be set back again I’m not sure what to be positive about.

Feeling behind!

I feel super behind on the swelling process for 6 days post op. I can still barely manage to close my mouth, like it takes continuous effort. I’ve also lost 10 lbs already :( I’ve been religiously icing and now switched to heat and am trying walks. Any other tips? I’m still super congested in one side too and it feels like they gave me a deviated septum :( need some encouragement pls. Last 2 pics are before.

5 days post op!!

(First pic and third pic is after) I had surgery Thursday afternoon, and it went longer than expected. I’m hardly in pain but the swelling is soooo uncomfortable, and it’s been making it hard to eat. I can consistently get liquids down now but with a huge mess and still can barely swallow so no tiny soft foods yet. The bruising started maybe Saturday night and has been increasing since but I don’t think it’s awful. Any tips to help with the swelling please share!! I’ve been icing a lot and attempting to move around a bit. Overall I think I’m healing pretty well.

Post Op!!!

For context I’m 25 yr woman which got DJS+genio. I beleive my movements at least for the genio were 8mm. Not sure if that’s a lot. The first picture is from the night before surgery, and the second is almost 24 hours after my surgery was done. The surgeon said it looked pretty good for how far along I am during recovery, but swelling is sooo tight rn. I’ve been trying to be good about icing but haven’t been as good today as over night. Let me know if anyone has any tips, I’ll update as I progress.

Looking for a surgery buddy!

I get my DJS and genio in a few weeks (June 26) and am looking for anyone who is also going to be on this timeline so we can go through it together ! I feel like sharing about the recovery might help the mental aspect of everything.

I’m 22f and will be super open to talk about my experience because this thread has helped me a lot. If anyone is close to my age and going through the same thing feel free to share!

I have DJS + genio in 30 days. What can I do now to make my recovery easier? I don’t mean things to purchase or have ready, I mean things (like maybe even PT exercises etc) that I can work on now that physically will make recovery easier for my body.

What I have been doing:
Consistent excercise 2-3x a week for like 6 months to gain muscle/weight. I’ve gained about 7 pounds but I have been losing fat as well.
Taking super good care of my teeth and braces

I plan on going on walks as soon as I can after surgery, and I plan on switching from icing to heat after 3 days.
