picked it up at my LCS from a world coin bucket for $2. i was looking at it and comparing to an example of a 1775 half penny online and noticed that mine looks kind of weird and different and then on numista i read that there are lots of counterfeits especially of 1775 examples (there’s a faint 5 at the end in case you were wondering where it says 1775 lol). i’m thinking this could be fake and i would like to get other people’s opinions on this. i included a pic of a high grade example from google. what do you guys think? thanks
a few years ago i went to a bookstore in a really gentrified area here in socal and saw this book with its foldout map and everything and obsessively and impulsively bought it for $40. it seems to be in pretty good all around condition. i don’t want it anymore and would like to get my money back lol. is it worth anything and where should i sell it? thanks
i need some advice on whether or not i should clean these coins with acetone. the top 2 mexican ones are worth way above melt and they’re kind of grimy and the ones at the bottom are kind of dirty as well. i wanted your guys’s advice on if i should clean them or not. does it affect value whatsoever? does it damage the coin? will they look better or should i leave them as is? also would this then count as a cleaned coin or is it just “restored”? thanks
