Running wires to battery?

Can someone please give me a specific answer as to where EXACTLY the rubber grommet access through the firewall is on a 2008 ES 350? I’ve looked on the Lexus boards and people just vaguely refer to it or mention locations on later model ES 350s, but I can’t find anywhere (much preferably with pictures) of where exactly this grommet is, if it indeed exists.
I’ve read some people say there is one on the passenger side behind the glove box.. ok.. But where? Does anyone have pictures?? I’m not finding it. I’ve heard the same about one on the driver’s side. And while I see places where cables are going from the cabin into the bonnet, I can’t find a definitive answer on where I should be running my wiring through from the cabin to the battery.

And, yes, this is a requirement for my project. I have a higher wattage device that needs to be directly wired to the battery and grounded, so I cannot use the cabin power.

Does anyone have the precise answer to this and not just a guess or hunch?

Thanks.

Pile-up sourpusses?

Since I started doing DXing on HF earlier this year, I started to notice something I'm not sure I've heard other hams talk about, and which I'm not even sure what the reason is for, other than my own speculation. It is that (especially when there are pile-ups for a station calling CQ), you'll hear someone whistling on their microphone after another station was picked by the remote station, almost like they are trying to interfere with the QSO since they weren't chosen first. I've heard this multiple times, as well as the occasional long tone from a station on the same frequency. Am I jumping to conclusions that these are salty hams trying to jam/interfere with QSOs that they didn't get or just old timers deciding to whistle into their mics for the hell of it?

I’ve had it…

I’ve been struggling for years now with (what was said at the time to be a very good system) of ASUS ZenWiFi (ET8 and AX6600), first as a mesh network, and then— after being frustrated by countless issues with the nodes not connecting— running Ethernet in our new house with a single router and the other four wired up as APs. We even changed ISPs and the system still disconnects from the internet on a regular basis for no reason. I’ve rebooted, hard-reset and done everything to try to solve this issue and I’m giving up. I want something reliable that isn’t going to crap out and need resetting all the damn time. I don’t really need POE right now, I just want a good base router that is going to be stable and then four APs that I can wire around the house at the Ethernet jacks I installed on each floor and garage.
The ASUS system has 6G WiFi, so I don’t want something less than that, but I’d prefer not to completely break the bank. What would you guys recommend for replacing my unreliable ASUS network with Ubiquiti?

Thanks.

Anyone know what could be causing this noise?

This fluctuating wave showed up all of a sudden yesterday on my transceiver on 20meters only, between about 14.180 and 14.243 and has stayed there ever since. I’m using an EFHW on an icom 7300.

What could be causing this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone make a custom case/cover or “skin” for the MINI 1300 antenna analyser? It is manufactured with sharp metal edges that didn’t get de-burred in the factory and it’s unpleasant to hold it in your bare hands.
I thought I might file it down myself, but I don’t want to scratch it all up in case I sell it at some point.
