Can’t get over it, that my baby doesn’t latch :(

My baby is 16 weeks old and we had a rough start. In the hospital they gave me nipple shields to help open up her latch. The following week she wasn’t gaining weight, so we went to a lactation consultant and we realized that she wasn’t transferring any milk. My supply tanked, that’s when I started pumping and now I have been exclusively pumping for the last 4months.

I am really proud of myself for being able to feed her myself, but I am still tearing up whenever I think about my nursing journey. I have tried four different lactation consultant, trying to get her comfortable on my breast again, nipple shields, getting in the tub together, skin on skin…you name it, I tried it. She won’t latch at all.

The last time and one of the only times she latched was at 4weeks and my husband broke his pinky toe and I had to unlatch and help him. I am still mad at him about that.

My 3month old exclusively breastfed baby didn’t poop for 18days and it’s all good!

On day 11 since her last poop we went to a pediatrician to get her tummy checked out. I wasn’t too worried, because she was not uncomfortable but the longest she went before was 7 days and I wanted to get it checked out before the weekend.
The doctor (not her regular pediatrician) was really concerned that she might has Hirschsprung’s disease and he send us directly to the ER to see a GI specialist.
7 hours, a finger up her bum and an ultrasound later they told us that everything seems normal and we should give her 1oz of prune juice daily.

Almost a week later we still haven’t had a bowel movement. But her tummy stayed soft, she continued eating her 28oz per day, never had a fever, wasn’t uncomfortable and she farted like a champ.
I decided I wanted our regular pediatrician to take a look at her, because 18 days without a poop feels crazy!

Our pediatrician wasn’t concerned at all and she told us the longest she has seen a breastfed baby not pooping was 28 days, but by then the baby was really uncomfortable.
I didn’t wanna let it get to that point, so the doctor recommended us to try 1g glycerin suppository.
Oh man, it worked within seconds! Everything came out normal colored and really soft. So it wasn’t constipation after all.

I started to give her daily probiotics in the hopes, that this won’t be our new normal.

5week old baby hasn’t latched once.

Thinking about giving up to feed my baby myself. There is nothing apparently wrong with her or my breasts and I have plenty of milk.
3 lactation consultant appointments later with two different consultants, I still haven’t gotten a single latch.
The first few days we did nipple shields and she uses those, but she refuses to drink and goes straight into pacifier mode.

I haven’t stopped crying for days, I feel like I am missing out on the most amazing part of becoming a new mom. All I do I cleaning bottles and being strapped up to a pump.
