Hertz Cancellation?
Prebooked an intermediate SUV to pick up at a Hertz location in Portland, unfortunately did not pay ahead because it wasn't an option for that SUV. 48 hours before my flight to Portland, I get a call from the Hertz office saying that they won't be able to fulfill my reservation due to a statewide shortage in cars. We call customer service and they say they can either give us a sedan for the same price, or we can pick up an SUV at a different location (20 minutes away) for 300 dollars more. We are kinda broke college students using this SUV to car camp and we chose Hertz because of their no "young driver's fee" if we bought a AAA membership, but now seems we're SOL. Any ideas of what to do or what to tell customer service if we call back? We've reiterated that this is NOT our fault or our mistake, but they hung up on us.
