Organizing my rock storage

Really love being able to mix hobbies. Organized my rocks in a cabinet within plastic containers.

Put 3D printed labels on each container. Also printed 3D dividers where I can have up to 3 separate sections in each container.

Getting into the hobby! Thanks for all the great information

I kind of jump all in when I find a hobby I like. Thank you to everyone who has helped answer question's and shared knowledge.

The family of tumbler's grew quickly to 2x QT66, QT45C, and a Central Machinery 6LB. Now sorting rock's and the fun has begun!

How much "8000 Aluminum Oxide" to use in step 4

I am trying to figure out how much 8000 Aluminum Oxide to use in polish in stage 4.

In manual it say's 4LB barrel it say's to use 8 TBSP of Aluminum Oxide. But when searching google and watching videos I see some using only 1 TBSP per pound of tumbler. Which is correct?

Thank you!

Possible Deal - Storage Containers

I am just starting my Rock Tumbling hobby and needed some containers. You might check if you have a local JC Penney they said store wide they are having buy one get one free on "pink ticket" items. Item Number 8850471

I was able to get both for 25.29 for 20 assorted containers. Hope this helps someone else looking for containers.

I am new to the Rock Tumbling hobby but rapidly growing. I was looking at getting grit in bulk and was wondering if there is different quality?

The two main ones I was looking at is:

  1. Amazon bulk 10 pounds 60/90 Silicon Carbide - https://www.amazon.com/lbs-Rock-Tumbler-Grit-Polishing/dp/B0C9XGVN1Y/?th=1

  2. Rock Shed 2x 5 pounds - 60/90 Silicon Carbide - https://www.rockshed.com/rock-shop/rock-tumblers-supplies/rock-tumbling-grit-and-accessories/60-90-silicon-carbide-grit/?attribute_pa_bag-size=5-lbs-60-90-silicon-carbide

On Amazon order I can save around $15 dollars shipping due to Amazon Prime. But Rock Shed everything I read sounds like a great company. Will I see a noticeable difference in quality between these two different grit's?

I have said in other thread's how I have printed print's I never would have on my X1C with my H2C. And it's truly just a ton of fun.

For size reference the three big Pokémon are biggest size I could do on H2C. On the single print color model's I am enjoying the H series bigger size. Mario is the biggest and took multiple Kilos of PLA.
