Huge drop in PTE Writing score on my third attempt – has anyone else experienced this recently?

Hey everyone,

I’m honestly very confused and stressed after receiving my latest PTE result, and I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced something similar recently.

My previous attempt (14th April):

Overall: 85

Listening: 90

Reading: 61

Speaking: 90

Writing: 74

Latest attempt: (14th May)

Overall: 88

Listening: 90

Reading: 66

Speaking: 90

Writing: 59

This was my third attempt, and what shocked me the most is that I genuinely felt this exam went much better overall, especially in Writing. My Reading improved, Overall improved, but Writing suddenly dropped by 15 points, which I honestly wasn’t expecting at all.

At the moment, I’m running out of visa time, and repeating the exam multiple times is becoming mentally and financially exhausting. I’m trying to understand whether the recent PTE Writing scoring has become stricter or if I’m missing something technically in my approach.

If anyone has gone through similar score fluctuations recently or managed to recover from a major Writing drop, please share your experience or suggestions. I would also really appreciate advice from people who recently achieved Superior English, especially in the last few weeks, on what strategies or changes actually helped improve Writing scores.

Any genuine advice or feedback would really help me right now. Thank you
