And not some little roller coaster, I'm talking about big ones with triple digit drops, inversions, loops and barrel rolls.

I had an idea pop into my head that would have to exist separately from a different universe I've been developing of a world where superpowered people exist and are fairly well known, but instead of becoming all heroes and villains trying to take over or save the world, they generally all tried to apply their skills in the sports world. Governing bodies would eventually make enhanced divisions and leagues for them to safely compete and they would become the most popular spectator sports. I haven't come across anything like this myself, but I'm wondering if there is something out there I should try to avoid similarities to?

The stories I'm thinking of would veer more into the territory of sports movies like Rocky, Remember the Titans, maybe some comedy like The Replacements or even Air Bud, but with the players having various superpowers to aid their play.
