A horror movie about a dysfunctional family?

Movie Found!

I’m trying to remember a movie I watched years ago.
From what I remember, there’s a kid whose mother tries to poison him by putting something like rat poison or medicine into his PB&J sandwich and a glass of milk. The kid doesn’t eat or drink it, but his father does instead and dies.
The father also owes money to the mob, so after his death, some mobsters come after the family and end up killing the mother. The kid’s uncle then shows up, kills the mobsters, but dies in the process as well. I think the movie ends with the kid being left completely alone.
Does anyone know what movie this is?

What’s y’all’s thoughts on the Friday the 13th (2009) after 17 years of it’s release?

This was my first introduction to the Friday the 13th franchise, which is probably one of the reasons I have a soft spot for it. I was born decades after the original films, so for my generation, this remake was often the entry point into the series.
I also have a bias in favor of the cast. I’ve always liked Jared Padalecki from Supernatural and Amanda Righetti from The Mentalist, so seeing them here immediately made the movie more enjoyable for me.
I also think the that the movie understands the core appeal of the franchise. And its not like the original Friday the 13th movies were never particularly deep character studies or complex stories. They were simple slasher films built around atmosphere, suspense, and creative kills. I would say remake keeps that spirit intact while updating the pacing and making Jason feel more threatening then he was in Part 2, 3 and 4 in my opinion. I think this movie is a very solid representation of what the franchise is all about and one of the most entertaining entries in the series. That said I am curious what others think because as far as I saw it doesn’t seem to get much love.

Edit: I am so happy seeing I am not the only one who loves it!

Is this supposed to face the other way?

Hello, I am planning to get my second tattoo, something like the pic (it is photoshopped there tho).

I showed the design to a friend, and they immediately told me it was "facing the wrong way." This has me second guessing myself. My logic was that the body of the figure is oriented the same way as my own body, but my friend feels the face should be directed toward the front of my arm (facing forward).
I’m curious to get your take on this

Who would you rather fight to survive?

A small female mountain lion or Alex Pereria.

Situation:
Mountain lion is just attacking you during a random hike. She is extremely hungry. But w Alex Pereria, you and him are put in a octagon and being forced to fight to death.

Which would you rather?
