Chat thread reply notifications silently stopped working, anyone else? Nothing in "Unread", just a blue dot on the channel
Hoping someone here has cracked this because support hasn't yet.
A few weeks ago, notifications for Chat thread replies quietly stopped reaching me. If I start a thread and someone replies, I get nothing in my Inbox and nothing in the "Unread" view. The only clue anything happened is a small blue dot on the channel itself, so the only way to know there's a reply is to manually open every channel and check. Not workable when you're running a busy workspace.
A few things worth flagging:
- Notifications are definitely on. The thread menu still shows "Turn off notifications for replies", so they're enabled.
- I haven't touched any notification settings on my end.
- It's not one thread. It's happening across multiple threads and channels.
- It started out as just me, but now several of my team are reporting the same missing notifications.
What I've already tried: logged out and back in to clear the notification cache, double-checked both global and channel-level notification settings, confirmed I'm on the latest version, and tested by replying from a second account. No change.
Is anyone else seeing thread reply notifications disappear from Unread/Inbox and only showing as a blue dot? Did you find a cause or a workaround? Trying to work out if this is a known bug or something in our workspace config.
