Going out next week on Thursday until Sunday. I have a MSR Whisperlite as well as a pocket rocket for just boiling water. We’re planning on frying fish if we catch some, as well as making some other meals that aren’t just freeze dried. How much fuel is a good rule of thumb for the Whisperlite? Right now I have one large bottle and two regular size bottles of white gas. Would one more bottle be a good idea?
Planning to go out of Snowbank Outfitters on August 27th. I was mapping out the route and saw that Fernberg Road/Hwy 18 going east out of Ely is closed until August 28th. As far as I know, that’s the only route to Snowbank. Could that closure be lifted early, or is this a scenario where I need to pivot to plan B?
I can no longer attend and am trying to offload my 3 day pass. I ordered my ticket presale and still have not received my wristband. I didn’t buy the insurance (stupid, I know) and just took it off the Ticketmaster resale website. Does anyone know the best place to reach out to about getting the wristband?
What’s everyone using for cooking oil? I’m fine to bring a jug of oil if needed but was thinking a plastic jar of ghee butter or lard would pack easier.
Has anyone fished Jordan Lake recently? I have a trip planned for late August out of Snowbank, and planning to head towards Jordan for 3 days with a couple of newbies. I am not finding much new information on the fishery itself.
