Am I actually doing too little, or is my calisthenics instructor expecting way too much?

I’ve been doing calisthenics for about two months, around 5 days a week, and I’m honestly starting to question whether I’m training enough or whether my instructor is expecting an unreasonable amount.

My instructor is very harsh and constantly tells me that I’m not doing enough.

For example, he had me doing around 100 push-ups. For pull-ups, since I can’t do regular pull-ups yet, I’ve been doing assisted pull-ups with a resistance band. He started me at around 100 reps, then increased it to 200, and within a week or so I was being told to do around 300 assisted pull-up reps.

On top of that, he has me doing about 10 minutes of core exercises and around 20 minutes of jogging/running every day.

The whole workout can take me 3–4 hours.

Eventually I decided that I couldn’t realistically maintain that amount of training. I told myself I’d focus on being consistent instead. I started doing around 75 push-ups total, broken into smaller sets, and as many assisted pull-ups as I could reasonably manage, usually around 50–75. I also do my core and cardio.

Yesterday he asked me how much I had done. I said, “As much as I could.”

He basically told me that this was wrong, that I wasn’t pushing myself enough, and that I was doing everything incorrectly.

Then he asked me how much weight I had lost.

I told him 4 kg in about a month.

He said that was wrong and that I should be losing 10 kg in a month.

That really got to me.

Before this, I actually felt really good about myself. I don’t even particularly like working out, so the fact that I’ve been consistently going to calisthenics around 5 days a week already felt like a huge achievement to me.

I’m also trying to improve my overall health, not just lose weight. I’m eating pretty well. Breakfast is usually oats and chia seeds. For lunch I’ll have things like chicken or ground meat, and dinner might be tuna or eggs. I’m trying to get enough protein, fiber, vitamins, etc. I’m also walking and doing cardio.

I genuinely feel like I’m making progress and building healthier habits.

But after what my instructor said, I started feeling like none of it is good enough.

So now I’m confused about what a reasonable amount of training actually is.

I don’t want to spend 3–4 hours every day working out. I know I could force myself to do that occasionally, but I don’t think I could consistently maintain it. I feel like I could realistically do around 1 hour of strength training, plus some cardio separately, and actually stick with that long-term.

Is that enough?

For people who have been doing calisthenics for a while:

  • How long are your strength workouts usually?
  • How many exercises/sets/reps do you typically do?
  • How much cardio do you combine with it?
  • How often do you train each week?
  • How do you know when you’ve pushed yourself enough?
  • Is doing hundreds of assisted pull-up reps actually normal or useful?
  • Is 3–4 hours of training necessary for someone whose main goals are getting healthier, stronger, and looking better?

I’m not trying to become an elite athlete. I want to get stronger, look better, improve my health, and build something I can actually maintain for years.

I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have been doing this longer, because right now I genuinely don’t know whether I’m doing too little or whether I’m simply being pushed way beyond what I need.

Any free charging places for BYD 06

I recently bought a BYD 06 imported from China, so it uses the GB/T charging standard
The problem is that I can’t find any public DC fast chargers with GB/T connectors in Hawler (Erbil). Almost every charging station I’ve checked only has Type 2 or CCS2.
For anyone else with a Chinese BYD or another GB/T EV in Hawler:

I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations from people with firsthand experience. Thanks
