I’m sick of the titive writing

[EDIT: title should say repetitive]

I just finished the primal of blood and bone and I’m just… upset. I LOVED this series, but I feel like it’s running away with itself. It started with a girl and a boy from a rebel kingdom falling in love enemies to lovers style. And I was so on board for the secret land they thought was destroyed was actually a paradise. I was all for the over arching gods and magic system up until I think the 4th book. But I feel like the popularity of the series made the author over expand and fill with things that just don’t make sense. Like what do you mean that girl became a god but not just a god but a primal god of insane power of life AND death? But just kidding that was never her it was actually the male love interest?

Also have yall ever seen that meme about kingdom hearts where it’s like all of the writing and lore can be summed up with the words “heart, darkness, light, love, heartless?” That’s how I feel about this book. Everything is just a new mashup of the words “blood, bone, ash, primal, fate” but the new mashup is some how a prophecy and also the most powerful and important thing ever.

I am so sick of the SAME CONVERSATION happening over and over and over again and just all of these questions being asked that I’m also confused on, and them never answering and just saying “man poppy, you’re always asking questions.” Like me too bitch, I don’t know what’s happening!!!

Why did this book take place in the same room for like 300 pages? WHY ARE WE IN NYC??? Why is casteel being a whiny protective a hole?

I was never really a fan of the joining (I thought it was always just fan service and so contrived and unnecessary) but why even put that plot in if you’re going to sideline one of the main 3? Like you say that poppy can love no one as much as casteel but also Kieran is as important to her as him? Like nothing about it makes sense. It’s almost like a safety blanket for when her immensely confusing lore doesn’t make sense. She can explain it away in like three ways: it’s because of the joining, it’s because of the prophecy, it’s because she’s a primal

I’m so so disappointed because I have followed this story for like 10 books and I just don’t want to give up, but I’m so fucking BORED. and the sex isn’t even steamy anymore! I get it, he’s huge and she tastes like honeydew. Now please stop saying dck and pssy in my fantasy novel.

First watch through: seasons 6and 7

So my stand alone post for season 6 keeps getting removed so I’m just going to put a bunch of thoughts here!

I feel like both of these seasons are just going for epic moments and quick outs for storylines. Like it seems like they’re just trying to quickly explain stories away to get everyone together. For example, the blowing of the Sept was awesome to watch, but the more I thought about it, the more I was like wait, the 2 big conflicts being the Tyrell’s and the Sparrows were just wiped out with one shot. And then Tommen killed himself which was sad, but it ultimately just felt like a way to get rid of him so the writers could make Cersei Queen. Also, I think her being Queen is quite unrealistic because with her uncle as hand, there’s no way that she would just be able to declare herself Queen. There was a whole season about how she’s just a woman who cannot rule and she is just the Queen mother and has no power. How would the council allow her to just make herself Queen?

Also Jorah. We’ve heard since the early season that the stone disease is incurable. Samwell is just able to cure it first shot? Come on.

Dialogue used to be my favorite part of the show, but it’s becoming so bad. I feel like the usually smart characters (Littlefinger and Tyrion) are just saying a bunch of words to sound smart but don’t actually mean anything. I think I’m sick of hearing the word Cock.

Speaking of Tyrion, how was he so quickly able to be hand? He had like one conversation and then Dany was like oh yeah, advise me. Ever since he was the advisor, he’s messed up like every call and gotten her whole fleet destroyed. Also he gets so mad when she doesn’t listen to him like when she burned the Tarlys (which I don’t know why he was so angry) but every time she does listen, it results in failure.

I also don’t love that the walkers had a dragon. Because it seemed like a really convenient way to just get rid of the obstacle that is the wall.

Some standout moments:

-Battle of the Bastards was quite possibly the best episode of television
-The Dothraki/Dragon ground battle was cinema
-I’m so glad I called Jon not being Ned’s son. I am surprised he’s a Targaryen and not a Baratheon. But it makes me want to see a show about the rebellion to get more of Lyannas story
-Satisfying deaths of Littlefinger, the dornish girls, and the septa

My random gripes:

-Why is Bron in like every scene?
-Why does Bran just act like a robot?
-Why is Sansa acting like she’s the smartest person in the world that was born to rule? She seems to have had a very quick character change.
-The fake conflict between her and Arya felt forced
-The plot armor of some characters is crazy. Tormund and Jon should have died north of the wall. The Hound was dead.

First watch through: Season 4

WHAT A SEASON!!! I don’t understand how this show keeps getting better and better. Like every season seems to be peak. As always, my thoughts and predictions (I don’t think I’m very good at predictions):
Thoughts:
-RIP to the legends- Tywin and the Hound. Yall were fun to hate. Ygrit and Oberon, yall were fun to love.
-the nights watch is finally growing on me the battle for castle black was awesome. Rip to the giant slayers
- Gilly is so annoying. I hate the way she talks I hate the way she acts, but I love that she protects little Sam
-why tf would Stannis ride north beyond the wall?
-Little finger is a little FUCK if I say so myself. I am glad that weird eerie lady is dead
-Danny’s story is kinda in a dry spot. I did cry when I saw what the dragons were doing
-I’m glad Bran is where he needs to be because I was sick of going on that journey. I hate watching him take over Hodor.
-I love Tormund. He’s very funny
-poor Tyrion. He’s really going through it. I didn’t love Shay, but I know he did.

Predictions:
-Tyrion is going to meet up with Daenerys
-Jon will become lord commander
-Arya is going to become a crazy assassin
-Brienne will die before she gets to Sansa
-Little finger is going to betray Sansa
-Daenerys is going to re-tame her dragons

First Watch Through: Season 3

It’s me again! Just finished season three and oh my god what a fricken RIDE. I don’t understand how this show could be so good. As always, here are my thoughts and predictions:
Thoughts:
-The Theon scenes are very hard to watch. I knew the Boltons were shady and fucked up but holy shit. Everything about those scenes is so fucked. And it’s not even physical torture, the psychological is just as bad. I thought Theon was weak and awful, but no one deserved this
-THE WEDDING?????? HELLO??? I’m so happy that wasn’t spoiled for me because holy shit. That was so devastating. Poor Robb. This season felt more brutal than the ones in the past. I can’t remember if the bastard killing was this season, but between that, the torture, and the brutal killings in the wedding, it’s so intense.
-I don’t want to like Jaimie Lannister, but he’s growing on me. I loved hearing the backstory of him killing the last King. Everyone thinks he’s a dishonorable man, but he actually saved everyone and sacrificed his reputation
-Sansa is really going through it. Every time she gets a break they make it so much worse for her.
-Margery is so good at playing the game.
-Olena Tyrell is such a fucking boss I love her.
-Jon becoming a wilding was very interesting, but if/when they attack the wall and Jon has to kill those he got close with, I’m gonna be sad
-I’m glad Craster is dead. That band of nights watch guys are CRAZY.
-I LOVE watching Daenerys conquer and become stronger. The scene where she got the unsullied is one of the best scenes I’ve ever witnessed on television
-at this point, I don’t really care about the 3 eyed raven. I don’t love those 2 kids traveling with Bran, and I just don’t love the forced mystery around his powers. The 2 kids I feel are trying very hard to be mysterious and vague and it’s just annoying. Plus I feel like Bran is very bland.

Predictions
-the Hound and Arya are going to become close friends after a while
-Joffrey is still going to die, seeing as Stannis leeched him and it worked with Robb
-Tyrion is going to get in huge trouble for not consummating his marriage
-the wilding attack in the wall is going to get thwarted
-the rogue nights watch are going to become white walkers
-The Boltons are going to betray the lannisters
-Loras Tyrell won’t ever marry Cersei
-Sansa will escape Kings Landing
-Jon will become the new commander of the nights watch
-Theon is going to be dead before Yara gets there
-Dany will still ultimately win the throne
-the 3 eyed raven plot will ultimately lead to Brans death but he will stop the walkers

First watch through: Season 2

Well obviously I’ve been binge watching and have just finished season 2. I quite literally cannot stop watching. It just gets better and better! So as requested, here are my thoughts:

-nights watch is growing on me. I think I was irritated in the first season being told about north of the wall and the dangers, and not being shown. But man did that change!
-is no one safe from death? I loved the maester of winter fell and he was cut down so abruptly.
-Margery seems like a sneaky good player of the game of thrones. I like her.
-Brienne of Tarth is cool, in theory. I find the acting a bit forced, but also good at the same time? I don’t know if that makes sense.
-Zaro Zohan Dacksos or whatever tf his name is was so obviously ambitiously evil and deserves to rot in his false safe for eternity. Feel bad for the handmaiden though
-Tyrion is really being fucked over just for being a dwarf, he’s the best Lannister there is
-speaking of Lannister’s, holy FUCK Tywin may be my top antagonist EVER. The scenes with him and Arya are top tier. I am so immersed by every scene he is in
-Cersei is evil, but as a mother wanted to cry when she was about to poison her son. She loves her children.
-That red woman is something else.
-Fuck Theon

Predictions:
-flipping from my first season predictions, I don’t think Stannis will win. I think he’s in religious psychosis (joking, kind of)
-also flipping, Robb stark will not be king in the north. I think the Freys are going to set up his demise, maybe double cross him and ambush the army with the Lannisters causing his death
-Joffrey will be murdered before he gets married, making Margery not a Queen once again
-Jon will replace Mance Raider as the king beyond the wall once he hears their side, he seems to be willing to hear them out
-Arya will become like Jacken Hagar
-Jamie will escape from Brienne, making her fail another knight Vow
-Daenerys will still ultimately win the throne
-I have a feeling the Bolton bastard that took winterfell is going to be another bad guy, seeing as he burned the keep down.

Feel free to discuss, but please be kind and don’t post spoilers! Everyone was pretty good on my last post

First watch through: just finished season 1

So I just started this show for the first time, luckily with minimal spoilers (I knew Daenerys would have dragons and I knew Joffrey became king). I’m luckily pretty offline, so I thought it would be fun to give you guys a live feed of my first time experience.
Thoughts:
-I love Robb with my whole heart
-Daenerys has such an interesting story ahead of her. I really hope that she grows into a leader and a conquerer and not just a girl boss
-Sansa irritates me but I feel bad for her
-Renly has no business trying to be king. The other claims I see but Renly is kinda useless
-Fuck Cersei
-I find myself so interested in the dialogue between Varys and little finger
-I don’t care much for the night watch story as of yet?

Predictions:
-Daenerys will eventually sit the throne
-Robb will be king in the north
-Sansa will not have to marry Joffrey, he will be killed before then by Stannis
-long shot, but I think Jon is not Ned’s bastard. I think he’s his dead sisters. I think he was the product of rape and Ned’s sister didn’t actually like Robert and wanted to keep Jon from him.
-Arya will be found out as a girl, Mulan style

Feel free to chime in, but no spoilers please!

I just noticed this random brown spot. We have no water damage in the house, and you can only see this spot from certain angles on the house. It could have been there for a while and I just now noticed, but I noticed while pulling into my house today. Is it just a stain or something to worry about?
