The war of two queens

I just finished the war of two queens and holy crap the info dump at the end was a lot to take in.

• I find it so funny EVERY single book in this series essentially ends with oh now the war is really coming

• Okay so, Isbitch wanted to raise Kolis to raise hell to get her revenge against the Atlantians (aka mama and papa Da’Neer) and she needed to kill a primal to make it happen??? It should’ve been Millie but Millie failed during her ascension. It could’ve been Poppy but she chose her over her heart mate. Kolis is free. I’m definitely missing some things. My brain hurts.

• Super intrigued with Millie and Malik.

• I wanted more from Isbitch and Poppy and Millie. Although I’m glad Isbitch is gone. The dynamic was so interesting!

• Also good thing they joined since Cas is missing a finger now Kieran can make up for that lost finger. Although I’m really disappointed by the way the scene was written.

• Okay now time to start from flesh and fire 🥳

Book 7 theories

After finishing POBAB, I’m genuinely confused on what will be the point of finishing the next book. Especially after finishing the F&F series, if book 7 is ANOTHER edition of lets kill Kolis I might be demanding a refund.

What do you think/hope will happen for book 7?

From Blood and Ash fans, todays Booky word may be too easy for you to guess😏

Booky has an FBAA word today, and honestly, anyone who has read at least book 1 might guess it embarrassingly fast ☺️

Flesh and Fire

Alright I’ve been convinced to read the prequel. I must understand why everyone is in love with Nyktos. I’m currently reading the war of two queens. Can I read book 5, then after book 5 read the prequel before reading primal or should I start the prequel when I finish war of two queens???

I’m also not going to lie, I’m also loving reaver and I saw he was in the prequel so I’m sold.

Haven't read TPOBAB and i dont get the hate to Casteel 😭

Read B&A only till SOAAB and LOVED IT and, I don't get why everyone is hating on casteel, but i've come across posts saying "he's too possessive" "he's immature" and all but

  1. Isn't Nykos (and every other dark romance or better, YA romantasy MMC) like that?? Im on book 2 of F&F btw.

  2. Poppy and Kieran apparently hid a very big thing from him, kept it a secret, so even I would be mad and all 😭.

  3. He was tortured and raped for like half a CENTURY?

I dont even know for sure what icks the people most about him...

Also why is Nyktos like that rn?? Like be a little polite..its not like Sera was so happy about murdering him?? and the way he said "you are nothing but a vessel for the embers" (or smth like that) arghh

Why yall saying "he's the best mmc I've read so far" like i find cas better than him 😭

Controversial take: Nyktos is a jerk

So I'm currently reading F&F before reading FBAA 6.

And I feel like Nyktos is a jerk. I'm only on book 1 but I hope he gets a redemption ark because right now I don't know how anyone likes him let alone more than Casteel.

Even after finding out how Sera was raised and how nothing was her choice he's still acting like it's her fault and he'll never be able to trust her even though she has legit feelings for him.

He's acting like a jerk and I don't think I like him right now.

Am I having too strong a reaction? I mean I know they end up together because of FBAA but ugh not a fan of him right now.

Was reading TPOB&B when someone approached me asking how many pages it was

He asked me if it was 100 or 200 pages long. I kinda stared at him for a full minute trying to determine how to politely say it was about a thousand. (I’m reading the physical copy). I think I failed.

I basically said the other books in the series were around 700-800 pages long and this one was by far the biggest. I mean, just look at the thickness. I can barely hold it with one hand.

I also wasn’t trying to show off but state facts. I’m usually reading in my break room at work and I keep getting told “it’s so great to see people reading instead of looking at their phones!” Like dude, it’s my hobby. Idc if other people have their own hobbies. I get it if they don’t enjoy reading. Don’t put me on a pedestal for having a hobby that isn’t your thing.

Anyway. I love Kieran and I really hope he doesn’t die cause he’s the best character. Please let me have hope. I’m a little halfway through the Primal of Blood and Bone.

Hate/release date

First off, I'd like to start with discussing the release date for Throne. If I'm correct, primal released in april last year, and the only thing we've gotten for Throne is the name, and some vague spoilers on facebook, where you have to get approved in order to see them.

I really get that we want the last book to be perfect, but it is nice to keep us readers a bit more updated, even if that is just posting the teasers on Instagram as well as making the facebook accessible. Hoping to get more information soon tho.

Secondly, the only thing i am seeing here in this sub is hate, and while i get that the point of this sub is to talk and discuss the book, people that actually enjoyed the book are seeing so much hate they don't want to talk about it anymore. Can we stop?? Thanks

How much will the compendium spoil me if I haven't finished F&F?

Does the compendium reveal anything new about the story or is it just little character descriptions? Will I be spoiled for major reveals in F&F if I read it before finishing the series?

So much hate, not enough love

I feel like 99% of the posts I see here are hating on From Blood and Ash (or at least hating on Cas).
While everyone is entitled to their own opinions,
I would really like to see more posts from people who actually like the series. Flesh & Fire is great too- but I really only see fans of that series and not Blood & Ash. I get it, you guys don’t like Casteel, and I respect your viewpoints. But I came here for community! I want to see more posts from people who love the series and the characters as much as I do!!

Why is book 5 bad and book 6 almost unreadable!?

I really hate to not finish a series no matter how bad it gets (looking at you Witcher), but omg!!! How ridiculously complicated is she trying to make this story??? The conversations make no sense, Poppy (little miss 'I have a question') never asks the important questions! And Casteel??? There is no question now about how obsessed he is with Poppy. So toxic. She must be on his lap at all times and all he thinks about are fighting and f*cking!!!! He has absolutely no self control!!!!

Only bright spot is Kieran. Hate how he's treated, though.

I'm going to push on, but I'm getting mad at how bad this is getting.

Struggling with Born of Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I love Nyktos and Sera. However I am 17% in on this book and it is DULLLLLLLL! I feel like I am reading things I have already read and on a loop. Can someone tell me if there are chapters I MUST read to get the main plot without the filler? Help I really dont want to DNF this book. But I dont see how I can get through another almost 1000 pages of this.

To Complainers of POBAB

Listen, I’m with a lot of you that this book was about 600 pages too long, and it’s starting to feel like a word salad cash grab with a lot of confusing and repetitive moments. However, I am so confused how so many of you are team F&F vs FBAA or team Nyktos vs team Casteel. The parallels in these books are insanely similar, and while that’s part of the point, there’s also so many similarities compared within the book by the characters themselves that you all have ignored because the plot line in the last book (or few) just dragged and sucked. Nyktos absolutely gets overprotective of Sera like Casteel (hello Attes, he’s states/growls multiple times at him for looking at Sera and makes threats, and the same for the godling Kars she trains with). He goes ballistic and kills a primal when Kolis has her and loses his shit too. There has also been times when Nyktos tells Sera she can’t do something and then she goes and does it and he gets mad. Sera even says this herself to Poppy that Cas reminds her of Nyktos and the two of them as a couple too.

While Nyktos has been through a lot of trauma as well, he has at least gotten some “reprieve” between the trauma occurrences, whereas Casteel’s trauma is in a way more condensed timeline and has heavily involved the person he’s loved way more frequently. Let’s also not forget that Poppy and Kieran both lied to him/kept a major secret from him and that would cause anyone to be upset and be doubtful, especially after the onset of a ton more power and thinking you were going to lose your heart mate? Shit I be fucking a skeptical wreck too.

Poppy is also childish and does a lot of reckless shit too that apparently Casteel is supposed to overlook all his PTSD from and accept because “that’s just who she is and she’s being a badass.” I was actually MORE pissed at Poppy than I was Casteel for this last book. At least I understood why he was being a bit nonsensical. Meanwhile Poppy continued to ignore outside input and didn’t want to have tough conversations either for fear of upsetting Cas. And lo and behold, if she had just had those convos he maybe wouldn’t have lost his shit at the WRONG moment, but beforehand. I actually agreed multiple times with Cas’ logic that they were stronger together, and Kolis wasn’t in love with her, and that she shouldn’t be going alone. I actually knew that’s how this book was going to end, because it felt as obvious to me as it was to Casteel and apparently no one else in that book (Sera, Attes, and Nyktos included) that that’s how it was going down.

Anyway. End rant. I don’t want to see Kieran and Poppy, I do think Poppy & Casteel are end game with their shared trauma & shared love. Kieran deserves his own life and love, even if I do enjoy them as a throuple and would enjoy seeing that played out more. I am also mad with this book, but am too far in that I’ll just read this final book anyway, and it better be what I want lol, which is a lot of major redemptions, the final fucking end of the drawn out Kolis arc (and Isbeth, like come on).

Just started book 1- does it get better?

Just started book 1 and like 30% through - is it me or does the world building just not compare to ACOTAR or similar? Same with the plot, I feel like nothing has really happened so far. I just want to hear thoughts before I continue the book, not sure if it will be a DNF for me.

I am at the lake scene part with Ash and yes it’s juicy but still not the best I’ve ever read lol.

Does it get better? Am I missing something?

Primal of Blood and Bone SPOILERS: not a Casteel fan

I am almost all the way through primal of blood and bone, and I cannot stand Casteel. I was honestly probably only a fan of his until book 3. After book 3 and before book 6, I was still hanging on a bit and trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Now, I feel like his behavior is just obsessive, controlling and immature. It seems like he is continuously not sharing the truth with Poppy on certain things (not to say she has been 100% forthcoming), and it all seems very destructive. The extreme sexual behavior that ramped up in this book from Casteel is also a turn off. It got to the point where I would just skip through it to get to the plot.

I have been a throuple fan since JLA first began hinting at it early in the series and I honestly hope we get a happy throuple ending where Kieran provides the balance that Casteel needs, or I hope Poppy just ends up with Kieran. Casteel undoubtedly loves Poppy, but has even stated how Poppy would put the greater good before him, and I feel like it may come to that.

Anyone else feel the same way? Or have a different view of it? Guess I am just ranting more than anything after this headache of a book.

Bleeding ears Stina Neilson

Is there a plan for graphic audio for flesh and fire series?

Stenia Neilson is hands down the **WORST** narrator. I don’t understand how she books these big series. She reads as if it’s a children’s book and he lack of following the story when appropriate and over exaggerated in wrong places (EEEEEEthurr) and not seeming to know how characters talk to each other makes me want to pull my hair out
