I got a facelift June 1st and all was healing well. Out of nowhere, both sides split open resulting in this. It now has to heal by secondary intention and I’m trying to figure out the best way to care for it. I had hydrocolloid gel patches on them so it could be left alone for a few days at a time and I thought it was working but today they looked worse. It’s a difficult spot to cover but I don’t want to leave them exposed and everytime I clean it or take a cover off, it takes the good cells trying to heal. I’ve been using bacitracin, silver honey, and Lavior (alternating) and just want it to heal. It’s been almost 2 weeks since they split.

I had a facelift in Mexico 3.5 weeks ago (I know, I know) It was going well, actually and I loved the sutures on the sides of my face. He did really well! Somewhere along the lines, while showering or cleaning, idk - this happened!!! I’ve already been to the ER. I went to another specialist but nobody is giving me answers; only that it now has to heal from the inside out (secondary intention) and I’m so scared it’s going to scar bad!!! PLEASE tell me I’ll be ok. PLEASE tell me I didn’t ruin my face. I liked my face. I was pretty. I’m losing it right now. Please be kind….how can I get this to heal??? It’s not closing and every time I clean it, even gently, I feel like it makes it worse but if I leave it alone, I risk infection.
