AVID - Any advantages to Link & Transcode stills instead of classic Import?
I'm filling in for an AE on doc project and I see their stills imports keeps the original raster dimensions, I'm guessing this is due to linking and transcoding them? I've always been told to use the Import function. Wondering if there are benefits to this way?
Transmitters than can be powered via usb-c cable and small battery for extended use?
I heard a conversation with director Albert Serra for his latest documentary, Tardes de Soledad, and mentioned how amazing it was to be able to have his subjects wear a lav practically all day, wondering if anyone could suggest or have any ideas what those models may be? I'm used to G4 Sennheisers that are powered with 2 AA batteries that I have to swap at lunch for each talent.
AVID - Cue Sheet question: Do I include dissolves into the duration?
And if so, how can I add them into the EDL in a way that is not me extending each clip (?!) to reach the dissolve if it has one?
Avid Timecode generator displaying clip data not in designated track
Timecode generator set to display ClipNames ONLY on Tracks 3+4, but it will duplicate the same info from track 3 to track 4, even when no clips present on track 4, confusing the viewers. Anyone encountered similar issue?
Best Practices/ App recs for ensuring and checking that two separate drives have the same media / OCFs?
We're nearing the end of the project and I've been assigned to make sure two OWC Thunderbay 8 have the same media/OCF so one can be stored offsite. I'd just CMD+I each OCF folder and match the for size but wondering if any pros here maybe could swoop in and say, "Don't waste your time! Use App XYZ to match or compare!"
Thanks!

I know this can be automated in editingtools-io only when the source is contiguous (basically like a join through edit) but what about instances where a segment is made up of non-contiguous source TCs. It seems like a very manual task to do otherwise.
I will look into whether this merge can be automated but it's looking like a manual task, a long one...
