Bugatti

Bugatti holds more than 1,000 patented mechanical inventions and distinguished itself particularly in auto racing—especially in the first half of the 20th century—with its “legendary” blue French race cars featuring the horseshoe-shaped grille. Its record includes more than 10,000 national and international racing victories, as well as 37 records[6]. Temporarily taken over by the “boss’s son,” Jean Bugatti, who died young, Bugatti was forced to cease operations shortly after World War II.

However, new production of cars bearing the Bugatti name began after the brand’s demise, first in 1987 by the Italian Romano Artioli under the name “Bugatti Automobili SpA”—a venture marked by the construction of a brand-new, futuristic factory in Italy and the launch of a new flagship model for the brand, the EB110, and then in 1998 by the German Volkswagen AG group, spearheaded by its CEO Ferdinand Piëch, with the creation of Bugatti Automobiles SAS. In 2005, Bugatti produced an exceptional model, a supercar: the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 and its Grand Sport, Super Sport, and Grand Sport Vitesse versions. Bugatti ceased production of the Veyron in 2015, after building 450 units, and in 2016 launched the Bugatti Chiron—named after the Monegasque race car driver Louis Chiron—powered by a W16 engine producing 1,500 ch[7]. Its top speed is limited to 420 km/h.
