Undergrad research at UMD

Hey guys,

I’m going into my last semester at UMD this fall (graduating Fall 2026) and I’ve been realizing I probably haven’t taken advantage of UMD resources as much as I should have. I’m a CS major and I’ll be interning this summer, but when I come back in the fall I’d really like to get involved in undergrad research, especially anything involving tech + healthcare/medicine.

I’m interested in things like data analysis, AI/ML, digital health, medical technology, or anything along those lines. I’m mainly wondering if it’s too late to get involved as a senior with only one semester left.

If anyone has advice on:

  • finding professors/labs
  • whether labs take seniors for one semester
  • good programs/resources at UMD
  • or just how to get started

I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
