Light, floral, refreshing pressed white tea from Leaf & Bloom's sampler. Delicious.
Found a simple tea setup that works for me na. The hot water in a flask helps since I can't have a kettle on the dining table and I don't want to keep stepping to our water dispenser. Since it's just for me, no need for a fairness cup.
Have a great week ahead!
King Chef, Makati branch, house tea is a weak generic oolong. Maybe it's weak since we dined past 8pm. Stronger brew at opening times? Maybe. But I'm still thankful as it still warms the tummy for food.
Masarap. Mauulit. Had multiple steeps totaling 1.5L (was able to measure since I use a flask with hot water.)
I agree with the description of having a sweet aftertaste -- orchid and lychee notes.
Harvested a lot of flowers and brewed them. I got this idea from the pot of flowers served to me at Crystal Jade. It was a bit too floral for me so next time, I'll add it to whatever tea I'm drinking or just don't put too much in the pot.

Oh, loving this tea cup my folks had from Japan.
For P380, 15 balls, 12 g of Bai Cha each? Not bad for everyday drinking.

Oh and Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan! Tsaa-peeps!
I've mentioned Joy Market in a previous post. Sharing with you all some photos and my haul from a recent visit.
They have tea for everyday drinking to gift-level tea boxes. Same for the tea ware: there were regular cups to those in cases. I took stealth photos of those open on display.
Scored for myself 2 large tea cups with dragon design. Originally priced at P500 each but the store gave it to me at P350 each instead.
The white tea balls were P380.
The pendulum tea pot was P500.
The rest of my items were for TCM.

Sharing with you a recipe for 2 cups of masala chai that I learned from a Bangladeshi friend. I’m using Kazi & Kazi Tea which is a CTC (Cut, Tear, Curl) black tea gifted by the same friend.
My choice spices are cinnamon, star anise, cloves, and peppercorns. Other spices you can add are slices of ginger, cardamom, and nutmeg.
When fragrant add 100 ml of water then 2 Tablespoons of black tea.
Then add 400 ml of milk and bring to a hard boil. Then simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
Strain before serving.
Edit: Add sugar to taste
I asked the what tea it was and he just said, "Jasmine." I could taste an oolong base. Masarap, everyday jasmine tea.
Had cold-brewed Jasmine [Dragon] Pearl I got from Yuxing Xuan Teahouse from my October trip to Singapore last year.
10g in 1000ml cold water in the fridge overnight. The result is a clean-tasting green tea with a relaxing scent of jasmine. Summer na summer ang dating.
Nakapag-Chagee na ba ang lahat? 😆
Got this from one of our r/tsaaph members who has a tea pasabuy!
Google Lens search results: Huangshan Maofeng ("Yellow Mountain Fur Peak") is a renowned top-ten Chinese green tea produced near Anhui's Huangshan Mountain. Known for its light, orchid-like aroma and sweet, mellow flavor, it consists of early spring buds and one leaf, covered in fine white hair.
Clean, crisp, slightly sweet aftertaste. Love seeing the leaves sink signaling it's time to taste.
I asked Google if our Sampaguita is the same as what we find i jasmine tea and the answer was:
Yes, the Philippine sampaguita (Jasminum sambac) is a species of jasmine, and its intensely fragrant flowers are indeed used to make or scent jasmine tea. Known as "Arabian tea jasmine," it is often used for tea, perfumes, and garlands, sharing the same sweet aroma as other jasmine tea varieties.
Sampaguita is not just a type of jasmine; it is one of the primary species used in jasmine tea, alongside Jasminum officinale
So I added a few buds from our garden in a jar with wild black tea. Let's see how it goes in a few days.
Ta-dah!
