What do you do with Tea you don't like?

Hi all! I bought like 20-30g of Anji Bai Cha. I tried it (gongfu method) and omg, it's not for me. It's too vegetal and the aroma and taste are like brewing seaweed 😢

I usually love the aroma of tea, tieguanyin is my favorite! Lapsang souchong is... manageable. But Anji Bai Cha? Naurr I just can't.

Sayang naman yung extra leaves. What do you usually do with leaves you don't like? 🥺

Young Sheng Puer Tea Session

Bing Dao (冰岛) Young Raw Puer (Months old 生普洱):

The first sip opens with a quick astringency caressing the tongue, then gives way to a green, plant-based sweetness, more sugarcane juice than corn syrup, but with that same bright, citrus-electric buzz as Mountain Dew. The finish turns cool and fresh, lemongrass-bright, lingering and mouth-watering, pulling you back for more.

Pour it out and let’s be honest: it looks exactly like the pee of someone who’s extremely hydrated and has their life together. Clear, golden-yellow, almost glowing, the kind of color a doctor would look at and say “whatever you’re doing, keep doing it.” No cloudiness, no murky business, just a bright, honest yellow that practically screams “I drink eight glasses of water a day and I journal every morning.” If your urine ever looked this good, you’d probably frame it.

Pairing a delicate young sheng puer with greasy, salty sisig is gonna get me cancelled by tea purists. But hear me out: that sharp astringency cuts through the oil like a knife, and the natural sweetness balances the salt instead of fighting it. Tea’s literally been pairing with fatty, salty food for centuries. If you have the same thought, you're not wrong, you’re just built different.

Btw, how do you guys feed your tea pet?

As for me, I pour it directly on its mouth...

Kkv chali green tea

Followed the instructions this time which was 90c for two minutes.

It's a very mild brew. This one in my opinion needs to be brewed stronger. Very lightly green. Not much flavor.

It produces a beautiful light jade green color but the pictures cannot Justify the true color in real life.

As it's a Chinese green tea, these things can stand a much hotter water when making the tea. Most of them are wok fried to stabilize the color and flavor instead of the japanese way of steaming It.

This has a very gentle flavor. No bean flavor like from what you might get from something like a longjing. Very pleasant and light. I'll play around with two bags worth in a gaiwan and no tea bags to get more flavor out of it and report back.

But I'll finish this up first before doing that.

Green tea reco

I'm new to drinking tea and I've tried drinking Lipton's green tea. Tbh, I found it good kaya nagka interest ako sa green tea. I saw some posts saying na once you try another brand, you won't go back to Lipton daw.

I looked up some brands online (TikTok and Shopee) and these are some that I found which are within my budget. May nakita rin akong twinings, but I saw some threads saying na hindi naman daw masarap.

What other budget-friendly brands would you recommend to a beginner? Yung hindi rin sana mahirap hanapin.

Kkv chali osmanthus oolong

Two tea bags worth

100ml gaiwan

95c water

Didn't realize it was the bagged kind. I mean it makes sense it's a place that sells the the general public and not tea people that drink in gaiwans.

First steep was 30 seconds in the bags.

It was quite nice and pleasant. Floral. Fruity. Very light oolong. Lots of osmanthus smell and flavor. Quite feminine.

I opted to open up the bags. Weighed them both. Came out to 6.69grams. minus the bags more or less Yung butal Yung bags.

I thought I would have liked it more when I let the tea to open up more without the bags.

And yes, the oolong had the chance to unfurl and let the flavor open up more. Kaso it overpowered the flavor of the osmanthus flowers and it tasted more like the oolong. Probably this is dongding or some sort of high mountain oolong. Better than the crap I have in a 500 grams na high mountain oolong. Loooool.

Next Time I won't remove it from the bags and try it out as intended.

Hoarding from 7T+ (7teaplus_kyoto)

Hi everyone! So I stumbled on this small tea shop in Kyoto.

These are the teas I bought:

  1. Fukamushi Sencha (to experience the tea quality)

  2. Dong Ding Oolong (most elegant flavor)

  3. Genmaicha (daily drinking)

  4. Goshicha (unique fermented tea)

  5. Guzhouhoucha-cha (interesting roasted specialty tea)

I want to get your thoughts if you have tried this Kyoto shop and my list of teas. It's my first time trying fermented tea. I always have stomach issues hence I bought it. I already enjoyed Genmaicha and Fukamushi Sencha! 🍵🍃

Pinpin White Tea sampler from Leaf & Bloom Tea Co

Light, floral, refreshing pressed white tea from Leaf & Bloom's sampler. Delicious.

Found a simple tea setup that works for me na. The hot water in a flask helps since I can't have a kettle on the dining table and I don't want to keep stepping to our water dispenser. Since it's just for me, no need for a fairness cup.

Have a great week ahead!

Joy (Tea) Market Makati

Hi!!! New here! Is anyone familiar with these tea brands? I found this in Makati, and their prices start at around 1.3k PHP, especially for canned ones. Is it worth it?

does anyone know where to find good quality spearmint tea in kolkata?

hey friends, so the last time i bought spearmint tea from amazon in a pouch thing, it had little flies in it and had to immediately return it. still kinda traumatized about it, tbh! any in-person store info which sells a variety of interesting teas, at affordable rates of course, would be much appreciated. thanks a lot in advance :)

how do you use your tube infuser/strainer without wasting loose leaf tea?

my brother bought me this tumbler with an infuser tube attachment since i just broke my glass infuser tumbler (it has the basket type) where i usually bring to work with loose leaf tea. now that i have this tube-type infuser, i find that i'm scattering bits of loose leaf tea so i wanna know what's the most efficient way tea-lovers use this?

also, it seems this kind of tumbler doesn't hold hot drinks, does it? it still kinda burns my tongue even after an hour ^^

My new dongding oolong

It smells floral

Tastes green, a bit like beans, mildly sweet

100c dumped the first steep. So flash steep then the first true steep was 10c, didn't taste like much. Needs longer steeps to get flavor out of it. So I suggest maybe doing 20-30seconds for first steep. Next steep, dun na nagka lasa.

King Chef's house tea is a weak oolong

King Chef, Makati branch, house tea is a weak generic oolong. Maybe it's weak since we dined past 8pm. Stronger brew at opening times? Maybe. But I'm still thankful as it still warms the tummy for food.
