Unang banat sa Yixing teapot

1st time ko mag Yixing teapot.

If you’re a beginner collector and tired of short round nuts, try the Chicken Heart

Hear me out. I know round nuts are fun to play with, but isn’t it kinda boring if all your nuts are round? Why not try other shapes? This is why the Chicken Heart could be your NEXT NUT:

* Shallow grooves
* Fast and even coloring
* Not too heavy, but not too light either
* Flat and stable base, it can stand on its own
* Affordable

I have other varieties with a similar profile, and these are the features I find ideal for beginners. There are many walnuts that have Chicken Heart shape. This one is called 老树平底鸡心.

The camera make the shapes look wonky and uneven, but this walnut is actually very well-matched.

Are you now considering a Chicken Heart? Let me know!

Qilin Pattern

It’s one of the patterns I tended to overlook as a beginner because it looked similar to other patterns on entry-level walnuts.

However, those thick-veined, armor-like dragon scales really start to stand out on mid- to high-end walnuts.

If you end up liking the Qilin pattern, then I recommend a Guan Mao (Official Hat) or a Xue Qilin (Blood Qilin).

Yuanbao Nut

It has a dense feel and has very good grip. Anybody here who also play with Yuanbao?

What’s your experience with it compared with mainstream walnuts (white lion, millstone, etc.) ?

Wenwan Rudraksha

Highly recommend as a first wenwan bracelet. Like wenwan walnuts, they take color and develop patina over time.

Nanjiang Stone

This walnut variety has one of the strongest reputations in the Wenwan walnut community. Who here plays Nanjiang Stone?

How’s your experience with it?

My 大粗筋 progress.

I've been playing with this Thick Ridge since March 2026. The hot weather really helped building that color and patina.

Keep playing my fellow nutheads. This journey is still far. But around 3 months, you start to see your efforts.
