Food Reintroduction

Hi all 👋 I’m on my fourth month on the low nickel diet and slowly reintroducing foods that are moderate nickel to check for reactions. So far I’m ok with quinoa and coconut aminos, plus I reintroduced fresh tomatoes because of a suspected allergy but it was not the case. I’m mid flair right now after trying out a sourdough bread that has some whole wheat and rye flour so I’m stopping that for now.

It got me curious: what moderate to high nickel foods were you able to successfully reintroduce/had no reaction to and what moderate to low nickel foods surprised you and gave you a reaction?

Breakfast with leftovers

About 2/3 leftover liquid Just Egg, 6 vegan eggs using Animal Free Egg White Protein Powder (hydrated with half water, half soy milk and a drizzle of oil/melted (v) butter), lots of spices (nooch, turmeric, salt and pepper, kala namak, garlic powder), leftover roasted potatoes cut small, leftover chopped Fieldroast Apple and Sage Sausage and about two chopped Lighlife hot dogs.

I’m pretty sure Daring changed their recipe

Their original Chick’n pieces taste bland and ‘gingery’. Don’t get me wrong, I like ginger but not all of the time. Why do brands feel like they have to ‘improve’ a product when the product is already good? I’m so sad 😞 Vegan mexican chick’n salad on the lasts slide (before I added jalapeños.

Root veggie greens

Hi everyone! I eat radishes everyday and today I bought some with the greens attached.

Has anyone here had success with eating the greens from low nickel root vegetables like beet greens or radish greens without triggering a reaction?

9 year old’s dinner

The very last bit of the veggie pasta soup (lumaca rigata) and a bean quesadilla with the very last of the refried beans (both from last week 😜).

Apple-blueberry baked oatmeal for my husband’s birthday 🎂

The shitty part is that I can’t eat this because I have a weird allergy that prevents me from eating most vegan foods but wanted to share anyway.
