Started Cats Cossing!

Started Cats Cossing!

Loving this so far. Like all Anavrin kits, the pieces are sturdy and fit together easily. There are lots of tiny details and a variety of greenery. They even have one board of thicker pieces so the books aren’t all the same width.

I‘m adding a few bits I have leftover from other kits, such as the autumn leaves from Dreamy Alley.

My only complaint is that I wish the kit included glue strips! Im currently using leftovers, but it won’t be enough for the whole thing.

Thames Bookstore

Thames Bookstore, my first kit from CuteBee.

This has a lot of cute elements and was fairly easy to put together. Some of the notches were rather tight. I couldn’t get the touch switch to work, so I made a notch to bring the wire and switch outside. It’s not pretty, but it works!

Painted all the edges and used some medieval manuscript pages I already had for the open books. I used fantasy maps on the map rack. Used some greenery from a previous kit to make the plant in the balcony instead of the 2-D piece.

Finally got a Mike Stout

Mike Stout has been on my bucket list for a few years and I was able to see him during his most recent visit to NYC.

He designed this adorable highland cow and even incorporated some elements from the tattoo near it, with similar mountains and trees. I didn’t even request those, but I love the way it all turned out.

Yes, I went ahead and ordered it. Even though I ordered Thames Bookstore just a couple days ago, and I haven't started Whispering Hallow yet, and I'm taking a break from nookery to do a cross-stitch project. It's just too pretty not to have.

I finished this cute kit from Rolife. Not a nook, but nook-ish.

This is the first kit I’ve done with glue strips and I understand why people like them. Though I did use regular glue in a few places. Of course I painted all the edges, including some of the cardboard plants.

It also includes some paper plants and various plastic bits. I’m glad they went with plastic for the phone booth lid; it looks better than one of those curving wood pieces. The door is easy to open and close with very simple hinge.

I have two small complaints about this kit. It includes some paper tabs which fit into slots. I’ve see other complaints about easily they can get mangled, and I agree. Also, while hiding the battery pack in the post box is a very smart design, I find turning the switch (on the box) on and off a little difficult. It would be nice to have a touch switch instead.
